Does anyone else have the overwhelming feeling we as supporters are being cheated by our club. The board wait until the very day we are celebrating the treble treble to announce a manager the majority of fans don't wish, making it impossible to receive the backlash, without stating he just won us the treble.
Then there is the signing policy, the leaked document showing an array of players which resources were apparently applied to scouting. Aribo-rangers, Harper-west Brom, etc etc. Are we meant to believe we didn't have the financial capability to sign these guys ahead of those teams?
I think we are being arrogant thinking the current squad will breeze the league, I think they are treating the fans like idiots. The signings, with the exception of Jullien (who I can't comment on) appear below the required standard. First time posting so hope I've done it right.

DavieBhoy07 I think you are right, I get the feeling we need to sell a big player before lawell will release any more funds its the same every season. We wait till the last minute and hope for the best. I keep hearing wait till the English transfer window closes. Yeah and then we get the dregs. Our business should have been done ages ago and when Neil refused to say who this rb was that they were chasing and then it feel through makes me think who is running the show.

Maybe they'll sell Tierney 🤣let's wait till the end of August and then we can have a go if you bhoys are right. Personally I think we'll bring i a couple of decent signings.

So far we have spent around 12m we also had 3m accepted for Turnbull and 4m for smith. You moan about Lenny’s appointment who else is out there that knows what next two season mean to so many! 12m is massive for up here and I am confident more will come.

Does anyone think that we scouted guys like Aribo and deemed them not good enough?

We are a big club, over the past number of years we have brought in a vast amount of money on player sales. We have only seen a fraction of that reinvested in the playing squad. I understand the outlay on Edouard is big, but it’s an investment, the 9 million could be recouped tomorrow. We should be aiming to buy this type of player, a player a level above our rivals could afford or attract. I feel that’s our level and should be our aim. The signings we are making aren’t outstanding or other teams would be attracted by the low fee. I think we deserve investment, and excitement. Pavlovic, scouted by Juventus etc only 18, players like this will bring the buzz rather than players who we don’t even know what position rb/ cb from Hapoel.
I just think it’s time to step things up, take a risk, be ambitious. Not reserved making sure we can build a hotel, we don’t put the players on the park to win and excite, nobody will come to stay in it 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Celtic never spend big why would this summer be any different. Lennon won't rock the boat perfect manager for Lawell.

3 quality additions plus maybe a loan prospect and we will be stronger than last season. Keep the faith and Hail Hail🍀.

Personally I hope the manager and players don't come on to this site and read what we write. Life experience has taught me that if I don't know something I ask advice of competent people. No one wll convince me that Lawwell is not competent in hisjob. He is a shrewd businessman. I have no idea what is the income and expenditure at a club like Celtic But I would imagine that there is quite a lot of expenditure over and above players wages . I wonder does anyone know what percentage of expenditure is player wages? The books have to balance if you are running a business well.
Celtic can attract young talent because they know that they will get good coaching and have to break into the first team and play in Europe etc at an early age. If you think of some of our loan players over the last few years, good players who we could not afford to buy and yet couldn't get a look in in their hme teams. I can't imagine an established older, good, player wanting to come to us unless it is a stepping stone to England and whilst perhaps they play in a better league they are in mid table teams and knw that if they come to Celtic they will win something and get a chance to ply in Europe and be noticed. Sometimes I get the impression that some on here have studied economics along with Sir David Murray. I TRUST PL and NL and I have seen nothing coming out of ibrox to worry me even with the squad we havee now.

Davie bear in mind mate the new parks the millions wee pump into our youth set up and stuff mate I also want more done though in the transfer market but will bind my time a quality rb and midfielder are a must.

True, I take your opinions on board. Would just have expected an affordable right back, midfielder and maybe forward to have been identified, scouted, agents sounded out well in advance, 1st 2nd and 3rd choice for each position.

People on here seem to think that the only money that leaves the club is what we spend on transfers.
No one seems to take in to account wages
Tax
Council tax
Electricity
Gas
Policing
Ect ect ect.

No Kev83, I’m not daft. Everyone knows these things. But that aside, we are investing in other areas other than the playing staff. Do you think people like Chris Sutton don’t understand the expenditure of a club. He still suggested we needed a complete rebuild. I don’t think
Outs: Izaguirre, Gambia Boyata Lustig mulumbu compper de vries toljan weah burke benkovic
Ins: jullien bolingoli Elhamed Connell
Is exactly what he or others had in mind when the champions league qualifiers started. It’s a place for people’s opinions, and others should respect that opinions differ, that doesn’t make people stupid or naive. We all have one aim in mind! A successful season ahead! Hail hail 🍀.

I'm sure I read something a few weeks back that our wages to income ratio was about 55% and our total turnover is around 100m

We are a well run club and don't rely on Champions league football to balance the books, while we may not like it we may have to sell some assets now and again.

Anyone using Sutton as a reference loses an argument start away.
The guy is a shock jock that has NO CLUE on finances or how to run a club.
He can even run his own account without going bankrupt.
Sutton plays to the masses.

If we ain't spending the money that comes in why don't we have 100s of millions in the bank? Instead of just under 30 million at last count?

20.) 30 Jul 2019
30 Jul 2019 19:48:53
Glad we have 30 million in the bank. We are guaranteed the gas and electricity bills will get paid.

21.) 30 Jul 2019
30 Jul 2019 20:03:28
DRA should we not have money in the bank?
Should we rip through it and not give a flying feck about what might be round corner?
Should we just spend spend spend?

What are we keeping it for. Getting 9/ 10 is the holy grail for the support. Not completely wrote this transfer window but history points to usual outcome. Time will tell.

Daviebhoy I totally agree, we should feel cheated Celtic wouldn’t pay the money for McGinn and he ended up going to villa for 2.7m but Peter Lawell nets a New Year’s Eve bonus of 2.3 million something’s not right their lol.

I am not sure P Lawwell earned his bonus, whatever amount, certainly less than £2.3 m, and it wasn’t signed because John Mc Ginn wasn’t signed.
