I understand that the window hasn't opened yet but I really hope we have decent additions lined up. Obviously we need to get rid of a few more and I totally agree with the players we have released so far, but in my opinion the Huns have recruited quite well so far with a bit of premier experience for very little outlay. If they get mariappa, it will strengthen them further. I understand even though they beat us in the semi that we still have a better squad than them and they needed to improve, but I would hate to think we have taken our eye of the ball after the appointment of the manager, and think we can now just turn up and improve without any decent additions.
On another point it seems they have a very easy start to their season while we have a very tough one, coming up to the "new old firm", I can see them with a good points tally going into it . ( good old computer has done them a favour with the fixtures again)

Ronaldo is a show boater nothing else, how can people even compare him to Messi? Messi creates and scores goals, especially when it matters in big games! RONALDO the best free kick taker ever haha scores 1 in every 90 he hits, 40 shots a game to score 1 goal and hardly any assists all season (what a team player this superstar is? ) greatest player ever? (according to RONALDO) Not even in the top 50 statistic wise, JOKE! The guy thinks he is bigger than his country (****er👌) . big egos don't win tournaments i'm afraid good footballers do.

{Ed007's Note - Ronaldo never needed HGH - that makes him a better player right away as he isn't a drugs cheat. Plus Ronaldo has done it in England and Spain whereas Messi has never done anything outside his comfort zone at Barca.
Ronaldo would instantly improve any team he plays for and Messi can only play in one system, that's why he's done nothing at international level either.
Neither of them can hold a candle to the likes of Maradona, Zidane or Ronaldinho.
If you think Messi is a team player then why did he force Barca to sell Alexis Sanchez because he was taking the limelight off him and has tried to do the same with Suarez? Anyone who upsets Messi or starts to outshine him will struggle to stay at Barca, his attitude is just as bad as Ronaldo's - which might be a side-effect of Messi's steroid abuse since childhood.}

Wiser men than you have died in the loony bin . Sevco's only concern is to be able to field 11 and fill the bench.

I don't think that Ronaldo is anywhere near the quality of Messi.
Ronaldo only plays for himself, if Ronaldo has the option to pass or shoot, he nearly always shoots, whereas Messi is happy to set a teammate up if they are in a better position, maybe that's why Argentina have reached a World cup final, while Portugal despite having some talented players have never done so.
I admire him for sticking with Barcelona all his career, they paid for his treatment when he had his growth defect when he was young and he's paid them back with his loyalty.
How many times have we moaned about spending time and money developing young players only for them to jump ship at the first opportunity to move somewhere else. I think that it's great to see a player sticking with a club and not just chasing the cash the way that most of the mercenaries do these days.

{Ed007's Note - He's stayed with Barca because of the money they pay him and how easily it is to avoid tax - a crime that Celtic supporters have been very vocal about in the past. More cheating in his perfect career eh? And that's without mentioning Dr Fuentes and his blood bags.}

Why do players have to move, if he's playing at arguably the best club side in the world, he's winning things, and he plays well with the players around him, why would he want to take a step down. If Barcelona are paying him a salary that they and he are happy with, then good luck to them both.
Jimmy Johnston spent all his career at Celtic, we didn't criticise him for that.

{Ed007's Note - Is that the same Jimmy Johnstone that played for San Jose Earthquakes, Sheffield Utd, Dundee and Shelbourne after he left Celtic?}

Yes I should have said the main years of his career at Celtic, he played for these other clubs when his best days were behind him.
He played the best years of his career here though, which is what Messi is doing at Barcelona.

{Ed007's Note - So nothing at all like Jimmy Johnstone who didn't spend is entire career at Celtic like you said he did.}

Surely when messi's talent starts to deteriorate then he'll be cast aside like many before him. Don't know if I'd say he's not chasing the cash. I'd like to see how much of a percentage wage rise he gets with every new deal he signs. It's pure obscene the way the wages are going. Someone said earlier about the international tournaments going downhill from USA 94. It can't be a coincidence with the money in football going the other direction.
