So Alex is stepping down. Hold yer head up Alex you led from the front and fought a great battle. The odds were stacked against a YES but you made us believe it could happen. It's done and dusted now but the pain will linger for a while. There will not be another opportunity in my lifetime and I'm sorry about that.
There will be repercussions of course, Labour in Scotland is now a dead duck and some newspapers will never be purchased again. Anyway Alex, good luck to you in the future, one of Scotland's finest.

Alex Salmonde unlike very many Scottish Politiicans when you step down in November, you can truly say you did Scotland some good service .

It would appear to some the young Robospierre has fallen to the words of the elder Robospierre. " The king must die so the country may live" given the unkindness and emotional dislike of the man by many on this forum.
