Guys go to BBCsport/football. There is a very informative if somewhat confusing explanation of how the co-efficient points work for the CL & EL. After reading this it really brings it home how corrupt the whole thing is and the fact that our team has even made it to the group stages brings home just how well we've done. Unfortunately it's not going to change and the only thing that will realistically help is other Scottish teams doing their part but that's not going to happen is it?
However I don't feel we have to settle for mediocrity and lack of ambition. let's be realistic, we are never going to win this competion again but we are in a very sound financial position and luckily able to bring in some talent. If PL loosens the purse strings just a little and backs NL the players he acquires will get CL experience this year and be bedded in for next years assault and if you read the mentioned article this can only help us move from pot 4 to 3 therefor making the draw slightly more favourable.
Hail hail

There shouldn't be any country coefficient points at all. It is a club competition. There can be a seeding system like tennis. Based on immediate past performance of each club. That's the only fair way.
In no way should television viewing figures have anything to do with seeding club sides. That's a corruption of the sport right there. It wouldn't stand up to judicial review.

IMO, the clue is in the name, Champions League. All champions regardless of country should qualify then play offs should take place for the remaining places. Never happen though :-(
