Mally seen that yesterday as did you, tuned in today hoping he'd of made the bench and there would be a chance of getting a glimpse of him, don't know too much about the lad. Paul, Mark (Ed) I've tried to listen to as many podcasts as possible and not sure if this question was covered in any of them, but what kind of player is he? I know he's a LB/ LCB but does he fit the style Ange wants to play, where do you see him playing, at LB or LCB? And more importantly is he ready to dislodge Taylor if LB is to be his position? Sorry for all the questions. Also big shout to Michael, hope you get fit and well again bud my thoughts and prayers are with you for the speediest of recoveries. 🙏🙏🍀🍀HH.

{Paul's notes - SW1982, Scales is a 6ft 4in left sided player who can play CB,LB and LWB. Scales has been playing ina LWB position for Shamrock Rovers but in his early years he was CB for UCD and only moved to left Back due to injuries in defence. Rovers noticed that Scales was a very skillful player with great speed and continued to use Scales on the Left side ina a more advanced role in LWB. Though Skill is 6ft 4 SW,his speed is unbelievable and ball control is excellent. He can also chip in with goals and most of his are with his feet believe it or not. Ange likes his LWB to be able to keep up with the speed of the game going forward but also be able to get and defend and Scales will do the job here. Taylor's only downfall was he wasn't able to do this because of his lack of pace. Scales will need a few sessions training with Ange to get up to speed with Ange as I feel it's a big step from LOI football. But we have seen already Ange putting players right into the team so it wouldn't surprise me if he did. But I think myself Scales will need to get fitter and more training with Ange Ange before we see him. Ppl say we haven't signed a left sided player and I kept saying we have in Scales . Ange said himself Scales is a talent and a very versatile player and will become a star in the future for Celtic. Is he better than Taylor, I would say yes but I think it might be awhile before we see Scales SW. In time he will dislodge Taylor

I saw a couple of video clips of Scales and I know they can give a false impression of players but from what I saw he looks like a very good player who if Ange plans for him to play LB/ LWB he'll dislodge Taylor without a doubt as Paul said he's tall fast skillful and looks good at nicking the ball off players.

Thanks for the reply Mark, appreciate it, sorry I've taken so long to acknowledge your response hectic life. From what you have said he sounds like an exciting prospect, i seen the boys interview he seems level headed and knows there is a challenge ahead of him. See that's the thing with Taylor I'm mixed with him, i like him as he digs in and gives 100% but for me he needs to be 2nd choice so I'm really hoping Scales can adapt to the new surroundings and kick on, but with what he said in his interview he seems to settle quickly so he can kick on with what he needs to do. For someone I'd never heard of until we were linked with him, I'm excited to see him in the team. got a sneaky feeling he may well be on the bench at the weekend, probably more hope than anything. Again thanks for the info Ed much appreciated, also thank you Paul, keep up the fantastic work bhoys. HH 🍀🍀.

{Ed007's Note - Cheers mate 👍 It was al Paul's work lol.}

Not a problem, glad to be able to give you an insight into Scales. You should listen to tonights Podcast Ep 49, where Mark, Barry and myself talked about new signing and what we can expect from them. Should be a great listen as we did a full player analysis tonight.

Hopefully Scales will be another Charlie Mulgrew who could play anywhere on the left side. Never really got a chance under Strachan but during his second spell was everything you wanted from a left sided defender big Scales looks a similar type HH.
