Malley, you know we might have but I can’t believe we’ve not signed a full back yet. This has been going on for far too long. It’s a complete shambles . And if rumours are true we couldn’t complete the deal for Starfelt until the Ajer deal was done well it’s just embarrassing. We looked very disjointed today! . People talking about forgetting Europe and concentrating on the league need a reality check. We won’t be playing the way Ange wants us to play for at least a few months and even at that I fear the system will leave us very vulnerable at the back, West Ham looked like scoring every time they got the ball back from us quickly.

I really like the look of Buta. I think that he would suit us perfectly “if he wants to come”.

Bombscare good going forward, very poor defending. Think of Bolingoli on the right.

Stuartslater…it’s not a rumour about Starfelt!
I’m guessing your of a younger age? If not you’ve been hiding.
That’s how Celtic work, you should know this by now.
It’s not a surprise and you shouldn’t be surprised.
No point getn right into it, we would be here all night.
Sell biggest asset every season after getn pumped in CL qualifiers “lost Revenue” apparently? (Should never balance the books “expecting CL monies”)
So would have happened anyway, this seasons slightly different with the amount of players wanting out, Ajers away, Edouard will be too but don’t moan about not having having someone in before he’s leaves, because it’s not how it works.

We need to replace Brown. It’s not just a defence our midfield is to nice wee need a bad motherf*cker in there someone who’s dirty and a presence. We’ve been walked over in derby games in the midfield we can do all the neat and tidy things but not the dirty business.
I agree with all I can’t believe we haven’t signed a defence yet or a goalkeeper, think Dom played a blinder fooling us to buy season tickets with false hope and Lawwell had played a blinder moulding Dom into him in a short period of time.

I think you have to blame the old board indeed most of the present board it has been clear for a while NL should have walked long before he went its been clear for a while our defence has been really bad we should have had a new manager long before we eventually got one. It's going to take a while to get back to where we should be. I just hope Ange can move that board Into being an efficient team not the dithering old men with a biscuit tin on the board room table that a lot off people see them as.

Buzz Bomb correct me if I’m wrong is that us linked with a fifth different RB so we are now on our 5th choice …. Not great.

8.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 20:31:49
KP this is what I’m referring to, how many linked and not anyone in the door. TRTS so your trying to tell me we didn’t need another CB even if we kept Ajer as I still think we need another experienced one. Urhoghide not going to cut it just yet.

{Ed007's Note - Who's linking us to them though? If you listen to Ange's interview he explains what I've said for years - it's not about 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice, there's so many factors involved in a transfer that no club puts all their eggs in one basket, if Man City thought they didn't have a chance of signing Kane would that make Haaland their 2nd choice even though they've been negotiating for both players for at least a year and found out how much it would cost to sign Messi, so Messi would have been 3rd choice?
We've signed players that haven't been allowed to play for us yet, how do we know there isn't a RB just waiting on clearance to announce the deal.
People are blaming the board for things that they can't control, again Ange has mentioned how Covid restrictions have hindered the timing of signings and then there's players needing international clearance and a work permit to even enter the UK because of Brexit. Imagine Starfelt was allowed into the country when the deal was finalised, he'd have been eligible against FC Midtjylland, Bitton wouldn't have played and Abada would have stayed on - are people actually blaming Celtic for these kind of hold ups?
Has anyone asked Barkas how he felt to be 2nd choice behind Fraser Forster last summer? That's how preposterous that kind of stuff is.}

24 Jul 2021 20:40:24
Kev,
It’s hard to keep up with all the paper talk.
Ange mentioned they’re all Plan A, rather than 2nd and 3rd choice etc.
I just hope our new signings are worth the wait.
I would still like to see a GK, RB, LB, CB and at least One striker.
I trust Ange but Celtic need to back our manager for us to stand a chance of competing this season.

10.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 20:50:24
Mark, it has clearly affected Barkas to the point where he doesn't even know what a ball is. Our club's research on players is rubbish and has been for years. HH.

{Ed007's Note - So it's affected Barkas that he was 2nd choice, really? Our research on players that won 9 titles in a row, a quadruple treble, who had McGinn, Toney and Omar Colley in the bag, brought in Frimpng that we made a packet off, gave us VVD, Ajer, Sinclair, Dembele even Shane Duffy that you backed and we all made excuses for. Every single supporter was delighted with our squad when the transfer window closed last summer with who we kept and who we signed and now you're saying our research on players has been rubbish for year?
It was the man making the final decisions that messed up, the scouting and recruitment departments done their jobs well.}

11.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 20:44:36
For our key positions we should be identifying certain players within our fee structure and pay structure and then going out and making the deal happen.
All of the information about wages etc. is readily available within the footballing world.
But for some reason we keep ****in around over deals. We've done it for years and years.
Why is that? Why do we always drag out transfer deals? We can't blame Lawwell anymore but the same approach seems to apply. HH.

{Ed007's Note - So what could Celtic have done to get Starfelt or Kyogo in quicker? We're not even a month into the McKay/Ange era and people are going mental over a result in a friendly.}

12.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 20:58:57
Ed I think we can all blame the board in putting eggs in one basket when it comes to Eddie Howe.
We’d be a wee bit further on with things if that wasn’t the case!

{Ed007's Note - Were they all in the one basket with hindsight McD? How long was it after it came out the Howe deal was dead were we linked with Ange? I know there's a bit of PR at work about tracking him for months but we must have had some kind of contact imo.
I'm only speculating but it looks to me like Celtic were aware that Howe wasn't 100% committed and McKay - who already knew Ange - pitched his name into the mix as a possible candidate.}

13.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 21:01:44
All in all we’re in a bad position without enough experienced players for hugely important games……the new players not able to play yet will
Need relevant time to adjust. someone’s to blame!?

{Ed007's Note - Who do you blame buddy?}

14.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 21:06:37
A lot of players want to wait later on in the window to see what options they have before deciding moves. Our trouble is we don't have that kind of time to wait around. That's where the fan frustration comes in.

{Ed007's Note - And you need to apply that thinking to buying and selling players 👍

15.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 21:18:57
Mark, would you disagree with my comment about Barkas?
We fecked about over McGinn.
We fecked about over Toney.
I can't comment too much on Colley.
We're all fans and we're all entitled to our opinion without being criticised if it doesn't agree with yours.
There's no need to bring a hundred different facts into the equation, we've made some great signings over the years but on balance we've made more bad ones than good and we've spent as much money on the duds as we've made on the good ones. HH.

{Ed007's Note - I'm not criticising your opinion Besty, I'm saying that you can't blame the scouting and recruitment departments for the mistakes outwith their control, they produced the players that won what I listed and players we know those above them dropped the ball on. If those departments were so bad would we have dominated like we did and all been happy last summer when the window closed.
These guys are like Gavin Strachan, the sports science department etc etc they can only produce the data etc but the decision makers need to use it correctly.
Hypothetically again but how different could our season - and current squad - have been with those 3 players signed? The fact we never signed them has absolutely nothing to do with the scouting and research we do on players.}

16.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 21:27:55
I’d say Lawell and his closest around him, after all it goes back a while that decisions were not made quickly enough when we all seen what was coming. Ed I’m not bothered about the result today, I said as much to my son who was really upset (he’s 11) . I’m just really frustrated as we could be in a much better position going into the qualifiers.

{Ed007's Note - I can't wait until we draw with Hearts next weekend, I mean TRIFC drew with Arsenal 😋

17.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 21:45:44
Which is why our CL planning needs to start in January!

{Ed007's Note - Long term planning needs to be done over 4/5 years and deal with issues as they arise.}

18.) 24 Jul 2021
24 Jul 2021 22:03:01
We do need long term planning %100 But I would say we need a board that plans for that and actually looks at what is happening or was happening to the club in the past and learn from the mistakes that have happened. I know this is difficult times but I would think that Defence is a top priority it has been for a while and if the board has not seen that or know they should leave right now. I understand that players out with this country take more time to get but players from this country as in UK should be done a lot quicker.

19.) 25 Jul 2021
25 Jul 2021 09:51:47
Is that not McKay job now to plan ahead? The issue is he only been here a month so the planning your all moaning about is on lawwell. he's gone it's a fresh start. We xant get players in at a snap of finger. Even before Brexit and C.V. we found that difficult it's only going to be worse now. That's not celtics fault.

20.) 25 Jul 2021

This department that department the next department, any business which falls apart illustrates one thing, a lack of collective values and focus.
We can dice, slice, and mince each others opinions, lament past errors, but the reality is our club is controlled by one guy, who hasn't built a collaborative business culture.

If we can't change staff without falling apart we are not a business, we are trading on the assets of individuals, mainly players, who will see the lack of overall coherence, equally they have 15 years to reach there dreams.

The manager the ceo, these guys are employees, no more no less.

We should acknowledge the league is out of grasp, we are a cup team this season, and if change is not rapid next will be same.

Europe is a windfall, but otherwise a distraction.

Let's keep and bring in players who see our club as a destination not a spring board.
