OR big Fraser Forster.
I would take him back but other fans would feel he had his chance and we should look elsewhere.
Hopefully Barkas starts to get games and shows that we don’t need another keeper.

Dean Henderson could walk into almost any team out with the "top 6", so I doubt he will come to Scotland.

Cant see him coming up here. Could play at most premier league sides without the scrutiny he would receive if he was to come north and make any mistakes.

Would take forester back however think that ship has sailed now.

Once more admittance of bad transfer dealings from our board/ manager.

Seen both on MSM and wondered if it was just a 'fishing-trip' to catch Celtic supporters who are - like me - concerned about the amount of goals we have been conceding?
If we are looking at another goalie, it doesn't look good for Barkas as I always seen Bain as no more than an emergency back-up.
I agree with Buzz that FF is our best option; but he had a decision to make and chose not to stay where he was appreciated and playing well and he may have blown-it?
Whatever we do in the January window - even if we lose a couple - we must not make the same mistakes again; bringing in players who are either nowhere near good enough (Klimala and Duffy) - or the manager doesn't trust to do a job like he is doing with Taylor, Soro and Turnbull for example.

Think Kimala and Soro would benefit even been loaned out for half a season to a team in SPL where they are guaranteed starts! The latter hasn't even had a chance yet.

Tompo
Sevco are loaning players out in the Premiership similar to what Celtic have done for years.
The Livingston goalkeeper McCrorie can’t play against them,
And this weekend Hibs have Jamie Murphy playing against Celtic and then the next day the other McCrorie brother can’t play against Sevco for Aberdeen.
I’m sure Scottish Premiership clubs would snap up our fringe players.

Total paper talk and sounds like there's no truth in it at all, as for forster as much as I think he's a good keeper I wouldn't go near him now since he had the option to come back and didn't want to.

Said before on this site that going for a European keeper with no knowledge or experience of British football was a massive risk considering how important this season is and that's how it's turned out with barkas, he might come good eventually but the fact he's out the team now shows it was a poor recruitment decision.

The worst thing celtic did during the summer was letting craig gordon go, when forsters loan expired we should have immediately got gordon tied down for another year as protection and just paid him what He's worth instead of penny pinching, a safe pair of hands with experience and someone who's played a big part in this run to 9 in a row wouldn't have went a miss, absolutely baffled he wasn't tied up. Without sounding too negative, anyone who thinks Bain is a better keeper than gordon needs a reality check.

MarkM88 your wrong. Forster DID want to come back but only on a permanent deal and Lawwell messed about with a loan to buy offer.

Can't understand the negativity towards Forster. He was a great player for us and majority of fans would welcome him back.

@markm gordon was never staying at celtic he was offerd to stay. craig gordon is about 37 now and wants to play first team football and hearts were offering that.

back to the club he supports and were it all started for him it was the perfect move for him were he will be number 1 and be loved by the fans and help hearts get back up.

lay off barkas give him time i could list many celtic players who were wrote off first couple of games then went on to become very important players for us.

Philtim88, I'm pretty sure if forster wanted to come back then he would be here regardless if it was a permanent deal or loan to buy.
There's been absolutely no hard evidence that says forster wanted a permanent deal to come back to us, he only said he was open to returning when he was here with us last season. He knew he wouldn't be no.1 at Southampton so why not accept another season on loan if it gives him game time and a possibility to be included in the England squad for the euros? Doesn't make sense to me.

As for Gordon yeah he was offered to stay, but on ridiculously low wages and nowhere near what he's worth, even he said it himself. Celtic transfer model might be buy young, develop and sell big and it's a good strategy as it has worked in the past, but I just think they made a mistake not offering gordon another year on decent wages considering how important this season is, the last thing that needed to happen was us mucking around with goalkeepers and unsettling the back line, that's exactly what has happened but.

Regarding Bain, when has he let us down, anytime he has played he has done well, klimala needs more game time and a run in the team he gets a game from the bench now and again so can't get upto speed, Eddy has been rotten but still starts, get ajeti and klimala on together as eddy will be away in the summer, so let's get our other three CF to work together and find out who our best partnership is.

Didn't McCrorie sign fo Aberdeen?, don't think he is on loan, Forster would be wanting his 80k a week, and he isn't worth an eight of that, Gordon would have stayed but he was told he would have to take a pay cut.

McCrorie is on season loan with agreed fee arranged at end of the season aindoh.

Bain hasn't made any real catastrophic blunders as far as I can remember but there's been plenty of games where he's been very shaky and let in goals he should have saved. I don't think he's a bad keeper but he's just not a number 1 class for celtic and doesn't do enough to convince, if he bossed his area, came and collected and attacked crosses and made cracking saves then it would be different but he doesn't do any of that, he's a backup keeper for us at best.
