Has KT actually signed a pre-contract? Normally these things are done with some official comms, pics etc. Nothing from either club and seen a few articles today saying he hasn't signed anything, only verbal agreement.

We don't do a lot of precontracts so not too sure of the process/ etiquette, he's still an Arsenal player at the end of the day so can't exactly be working for celtic in any way right now (ie photo ops/ interviews/ etc) .
Part of me hopes we might have some sort of get out with it, I can see him playing for Arsenal at some point between now and May and geting injured and ruled out for a year.
{Ed007's Note - I'm 99% certain that pre-contracts need to be registered with the relevant FAs and UEFA/FIFA TMS, it's also worth noting I suppose that under English (UK?) law pre-contracts are not legally binding.}

Are pre contract agreements pending a medical? Always thought medical had to be passed to validate the contracts.
{Ed007's Note - Spot on ????

Ed, pre contracts are legally binding in England and Scotland. They may be subject to certain conditions and clauses but they are watertight.
The subtle difference is a letter of intent which whilst enforceable in England, it cannot be enforced in Scotland, as its viewed here as only an intention.
{Ed007's Note - www.blakemorgan.co.uk/the-enforceability-of-pre-contracts-in-football/
"The enforceability of a pre-contract will depend on the specific terms of the agreement. Pre-contracts are generally not binding under English law as they are usually marked ‘Subject to Contract’ and are simply a commitment by the parties to enter into a later contract. The difference between a pre-contract and a contract is that the parties to the pre-contract have not agreed the essential terms and so the pre-contract does not reflect the final agreement. However, if a pre-contract contains all the essential terms that have been agreed, then the pre-contract is effectively a final contract and is likely to be binding."

Ed, my clear understanding is that these pre contracts are full contracts and come into force on the due date. Everything is detailed in them right down to weekly salary. This ties in with your good explanatory note.
No doubting, certain conditions need to be met, the obvious one is “pass medical. ”
Not wanting to be pedantic or drag this out but the original substantive point is has/ can KT / Arsenal get out of this? I feel the answer is no.
Can’t think of anyone who has?
{Ed007's Note - Yeah no need to get bogged down in it but just going by that article it's legally binding with FIFA but might not stand up in a law court. I found an article where former Pub League player Peter Odemwingie cancelled his pre-contract because he got a better offer.
My main question is though, has KT actually put pen to paper on the pre-contract or is it only a verbal agreement? Did Rodgers mention him today?}

If and when Celtic do sign him and he completes a medical, his insurance will certainly exclude certain injuries and medical problems that KT has already had, they will be regarded as pre existing conditions . His medical is unlikely to state that these injuries have completely cleared up and are not likely to recur .
There won’t be insurance for repeat injuries.
