Looking like kvistgarden, tierney and jota coming in.
That couldn't turn out any worse for Ed ?
I don't mind kvistgarden but not for the other 2 returning.

Agree5 Disagree0

As much as I like reading Ed’s opinions c'mon why the downers on Tierney and jota, great players that obviously love Celtic…. give them a chance.

{Ed007's Note - I've explained numerous times why I don't want Tierney back, his fitness and injury problems that have plagued him since he was previously here and Jota's done hee haw since he left, he is a lazy player with an attitude problem according to his current coach.
All the revamping of the footballing department, Dr Football Tisdale and new scouts appointment, the data driven scouting etc and we come up with 2 ex players who have struggled since the minute they couldn't wait to leave.

Three good football players. Welcome to paradise and welcome home.

23 Jan 2025 23:05:09
ED, so you’re quick to believe statements about jota being lazy but not mentioning the positive things he did do when he was with us? Everyone is entitled to an opinion but I would expect more positivity from an admin.

{Ed007's Note - I'm sorry if I've upset you or hurt your feelings, Mick. After 15 years of doing this I never knew I had to keep it all sunshine & lollipops bull$hit. Will I just keep my opinion to myself from now on?
What's Tam Rogic up to these days, remember all the positive things he done for us.
If this our revamped footballing department at work I'm just glad Peter Lawell will be there to steady the ship when it goes pear shaped

I like the signings if they happen jota better than Yang and palma, will definitely challenge Maeda as a starter, tierney football wise is head and shoulders a top signing - if fit, but ed is also right, where the data driven signings like Kuhn and Reilly, it has to be a mix, if we sign a striker with semi decent scoring rate (as kyogo ain’t good) we’re better on paper fact .

24 Jan 2025 08:18:06
Respect all comments but if jots was lazy and bad trainer I doubt Celtic would take him back…. unless his money has went to his head since he left.

{Ed007's Note - Rennes fans probably said the same thing.

24 Jan 2025 09:22:44
Jota's treatment in the House of Sod was, let's face it, disgraceful: *of course* that would alter one's attitude towards work. If he was also frozen out at Rennes, that would likely compound his skepticism and chagrin, which may be a sort of survival instinct at root. I don't think it necessarily follows that a toxic attitude will follow him back to Celtic, where he enjoyed a much more supportive relationship with his employer. and Rennes apparently still think he's worth in excess of 8.6 M or whatever is being mooted . . . which may a clue that they recognise his ability to contribute. (Anyone know what they paid for him, by the way? )

Of the 3 I'm probably most excited about Jota coming back, yes things have not gone well for him since going to Saudi but anyone who has worked in the gulf knows wht its like and what it can do to you mentally. It could be this is what the boy needs to get his career back on track.

Seen nothing of Kvistgarten to suggest he is half the player Idah is, but obviously will give him a chance. As for KT, as Ed says, his injury record is shocking and I personally wouldn't touch him. But again, he will have my full support when he is here.

Cavalcanti, spot on ?

gerry,

he's scored 14 goals in 18 games this season.

I'm feeling very positive about it all personally. On his day, Tierney is as close to a world class LB as we could get. Jota is one of the most exciting and entertaining players we've had in years and Kvistgaarden seems quite similar to Kyogo in stature and style. People will have different opinions but once they pull on the jersey we'll all back them to the hilt.

24 Jan 2025 11:24:29
Tierney coming back is a disaster waiting to happen. We are going to need 2 more left backs to cover that position behind him

There is no IF he breaks down, he definitely will.

There is no managing his fitness like some fans like to shout about, don't people think Arsenal would have thought about that?

24 Jan 2025 00:41:10
Dont mention Tam Rogic Ed as we will be getting linked with him returning the way things are going.

{Ed007's Note - Even if we do sign Kvistgaarden, he was a Mark Lawwell target under Ange, so what is Dr Football and our scouts doing?}

24 Jan 2025 01:19:44
ED, Haven’t upset me mate I really couldn’t care less to be honest, everyone’s entitled to their opinions and especially the admins who run this page. Point I’m making is I just don’t see the need for the negativity, comparing rogic is irrelevant every player goes down a different path for reasons unknown, jota could come back and being terrible or he could come back and be just as good if not better as before, I just believe making positive posts and comments is the way forward for everyone involved on here.

{Ed007's Note - When something positive happens I'll be positive about it but when I'm not happy about something I'm going to have my say - whether people like it or not.
I believe people being realistic & honest with their opinions is the best way forward, both in real life as well as on here.}

24 Jan 2025 09:58:50
Sunshine and lollipops ?, Ed's on top form ? ? ?

I'm sending this post as I listen to the howling winds of storm 'Eowyn' batter Donegal, but like Celtic, we shall not be moved.

Keep up the good work Ed and fellow Bhoys on the site for on days like this, it's needed. ?

Keep the faith and keep safe.

☘️ ? ☘️.

{Ed007's Note - It's wild in The 'Shire too Ped ?⛈️

24 Jan 2025 12:11:40
I think I read that Rennes paid €9m Euro for Jota which if his return and rumoured price tag are legit would see them recoup their outlay which is fair enough. Celtic still over £15m up from practically having loaned him out for a season and a half. Decent business if he can reproduce his previous form in hoops. Football is though a game of opinions and always very subjective, that’s what makes it interesting chat I suppose.

24 Jan 2025 12:26:39
The 'shire' was always wild ?

This transfer window is i m o the biggest gamble since transfer windows were introduced. Both Tierney and Jota could well be total disasters or it could be that BR gets lucky and both could to be stars for us week in week out and both play for us for many seasons . We have no way of knowing whether either will do a good job for us .
Would it be a surprise to any of us if they never regain their fitness or play anywhere near the ability they showed with us previously, that may result in Brendan Rodgers leaving us in a rush again and leaving our supporters hopes and dreams dashed by lazy recruitment.

24 Jan 2025 21:09:19
Because he hasn't kicked his backside since he left us doesn't mean anything and we shouldn't really care as long as he does the business for us is all that matters. Welcome back Jota HH.

24 Jan 2025 22:03:46
If we get the same Jota back I'd be more than happy. He's barely kicked a ball since and is a big risk. Could quite easily find himself on the sidelines as soon as he gets a run of games due to lack of match time. Tierney again could and will likely be injured at some point before the seasons up. If he stays fit he'll be an upgrade on what we have. Kvistgaarden is well courted so there must be a player there but from his YouTube highlights he doesn't look particularly impressive doesn't look the quickest and always seems off balance while dribbling.
