ED007 have you heard anything about re development of Main Stand
I read on one of the Celtic sites that after Pedro was confronted by fans asking where all the money was going, he put it out via his newsaper buddies that plans were advancing for the Main stand
Have your contacts told you anything
thaanks.
{Ed007's Note - No I haven't heard anything about it apart from the usual rumours that we are planning something like that or pulling the trigger on the hotel/museum or superstore/ticket office upgrades

It's time addressed the amount of restricted view seats there are in the stadium.

Celtic can’t remove a pillar that holds the roof up.
{Ed001's Note - unless they changed the roof for one that doesn't require pillars.}

Restricted view is not a big issue at Celtic Park.
The worst view is probably the corner of the away end.
Of course it isn’t nice for the vast minority of fans who have restricted views seats.

Let's be honest. The main stand needs upgrading big time. I may be in the minority here, but I think 60,000 is fine. I would be very happy if most of our available funds were spent on a total renovation, not necessarily an expansion. The stand inside is too small. Better facilities for European nights is a must. More corporate boxes/ hospitality would pay for itself in a few years. For the sake of a couple of million quid you could get rid of the pillars in the north stand. I read somewhere that we needed these because of the cemetery behind? Remember it already overhangs. Celtic 'bought' the air/ space from GCC back when the stadium was being redeveloped. And finally, major upgrades to the concourses are needed. Kiosks etc. I am ready to be corrected on anything. Cheers folks. HH!

I’m sure I’ve seen pillars in the Main Stand which must be taken down for home games.

Correct. I've never understood that, either. Our Sky box looks quite lonely up there on it's own. I like my stadia. ☺️.

Agree with Celticmad, there's no point increasing capacity if the current setup isn't as good as it could be. A revamp of the main stand, get rid of the pillars, upgrade the general facilities and get the stadium to a level where it could host a European Final.
{Ed007's Note - I'm not 100% sure but I'm sure unofficially UEFA use stadiums with at least 70k capacity and the only time they haven't in a long time was during the COVID season, which as we know was a complete freak of nature across football with us, PSG, Juventus and neither of the Spanish Big Two winning their respective leagues.}

There’s no way Celtic will spend Millions removing pillars, which would involve changing the roof on stands.
They can’t make money on such a move.
That makes it a Zero chance.

I have to look through a barrier in the east stand to see the goal which in a fairly modern stadium should be the case. These restricted view seats are spread throughout the stadium which is poor.

I think that's just for CL Finals, Ed. They're playing this year's Europa League Final at San Mames in Bilbao with a 53k capacity. There's a minefield of criteria for retractable roofs and even the number of VIP parking spaces. Load of nonsense really.
