Bid for Arne Engels apparently now sitting at £10m and still being rejected by Augsburg. Like all other clubs they know we're cash rich and have lost our best player with 3 days of the window remaining and facing the champions league in a fortnight. that's what board negligence and incompetence costs a business. We're well and truly over the proverbial barrel and everybody knows it.

Bogusz deal dead as well, this is what happens when you leave everything to the last minute, Que the we tried but couldn’t strike a deal excuse getting wheeled out yet again, Luke McCowan it is then ?.

He is now £6million.

Sometimes you guys on here really confuse me. We should hold out for top dollar for Matt but should also spend upwards of £16 million on 2 players before we sell him so the board are not seen as Cheapskates. If we then didn’t sell Matt we have 2 players who can’t get in the team unless we drop Rio, Matt or Callum. I am frustrated at the lack of activity but the comments here lack logic at times. Saying every club gets these business done quicker than us is nonsense as no-one on here knows how long others clubs deals have been bubbling away.

{Ed007's Note - That's far too sensible for on here. Cool name btw mate ?

I’ve been saying that for ages Celtic can’t just buy buy buy and stockpile players! We’ve done well clearing out a lot who just don’t contribute and I feel we will get the 3-4 we still need. But the drama queens and anti board guys everywhere on the interweb just now is cringy.
Clubs know we have a bit of cash and are going to squeeze us for that little more it comes with being a well run club. I think it’s quite exciting the way it is and if I’m wrong are we not top of the league ??‍♂️.

Top of the league shouldn’t be the extent of our ambition. What about being the best we possibly can be? We’re in a position where we have CL football and money in the bank, this is when to spend it. MOR was going this window, surely it’s not being a drama queen to suggest we should have better prepared for this?

{Ed007's Note - There was no guarantee MOR was leaving, the majority of teams interested in him walked away at the up front fee, you simply can't spend serious money on a replacement for a player you don't know is leaving.
There are thousands of DOF's, managers, agents and players all impatiently waiting on the domino effect to kick in to get deals over the line in the next couple of days - for every club that wants to pull our pants down over fees there is an agent ready to swoop in offering us their players - who knows who could lift the phone to Brendan in the next 48 hours..

The problem we have now is. yes we could be looking at our targets and have then in on time but we have been down this road so many times you get the fear off panic buying due to just over 36hrs left in the transfer window and players may still leave and leave us weaker. even if Mor hadn't left surely the board and BR would have been looking at the other positions we needed. I know we got our lb but what about the our positions. sorry Ed it gets so frustrating.

Welcome Mojo. With common sense like that, you won't last long on here ??

Clubs hiolding out for the most they can get for their players and us doing it with MOR are clearly 2 different things amd it's our clubs fault, no matter what.

The fact we have walked from the Bogusz deal suggests they were not flexible in any way with their valuation and we did not value him anywhere near that. Different with Engels as the club clearly value him higher.

For me overpaying for a player just to get them in would deservedly get pelters n here, so if the asking price was too high then we should praise the club for not wasting money.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I have been following the site for quite a while and enjoy the banter and differing view point’s although I do feel some posters very rarely have a positive word to say but that is their prerogative. I hope for the best this transfer window but as the hours pass my positivity is starting to wane!

We have the Champions League draw to look forward to today so let’s see who we get and maybe play some teams we have not played in a while.

Try and keep the faith until the transfer window closes and if it ends poorly for us then everyone has the right to ask questions over the lack of quality transfers in.

Have a great day chaps!

Reading Mojo's comment I had to doublecheck I was on the right site:-) I know it can be frustrating when it seems like the team is not be strengthened and although i have no proof i am sure a lot on here and those from the darkside were spouting about the boards biscuit tin when we bought an unknown from mk dons for 1.5m instead of spending 20m on someone.

For me the board aren't perfect ( thank God as i find perfect people to be a pain in the a**) but i would rather the club is run by our board than that across the city.

Agreed ed.

However Rodgers claimed we would sign 1 midfielder and 2 if MOR left. So while I accept that we couldn't buy the second before he left. There is no excuse for not getting the first before mor's departure. Failure to do so will have added millions to the fee.
