Rumour Norwich want 11m for idah. they're clearly at it and playing off our decent financial state. feck them abd move on although desperate for the big fella to sign.

Agree3 Disagree0

Yeah sadly for Idah but I would tell them to take a hike and tell them we won't be dealing with them again. There is taking the P*** and there is taking the P*** For a player that they never rated.

? tony, summed up perfectly.

If true, this is very shortsighted by Norwich as they'll end up having a very unhappy player on their books.

Let's watch how that plays out - pass me the popcorn ?

Having offloaded Oh in the expectation of replacing him it would probably be better to move to plan B (if there was one? )
Norwich are possibly reacting to Idah's breach of discipline as much as dissuading Celtic and others to bid.

Idah has a lengthy contract at Norwich and they are in no rush to sell him.
The massive money is in the Premiership and Norwich will be wanting their best players to push for promotion.

Celtic are the same with MOR because we have him on a lengthy contract and we won’t listen to offers under £25M.

Celtic and our fans can’t have our cake and eat it.

It’s probably time to move to plan B for this transfer window.
I can see Idah eventually being a Celtic player but it’s not looking like this summer.

Idah just needs to hand in a transfer request, I know it will cost him a payment but if he really wants to move he needs to force Norwichs hand.

31 Jul 2024 18:55:36
Cant blame Norwich if true. If we hadn't done our usual of trying to get players on the cheap, we probably would have him by now for around £6m.

31 Jul 2024 19:31:45
Norwich don't want to sell him hence the 11m price tag, they know we won't pay that. Other clubs are enquiring about their 21 year old American striker Josh Sergeant so they ain't selling both and the likely hood is they will get the 20 or 25m for the other guy from some crazy epl side.

31 Jul 2024 20:06:03
Devil's advocate suggestion:- We slap a £40m tag on MOR.

I’m not going to name any names as it creates too much controversy but I’m told there’s a certain couple of individuals within Celtic park that are holding the Idah deal up, certain individuals who have previously caused the club to miss out on targets who were more than affordable for us.
Idah wants the move, Rodger’s wants him, Norwich apparently need to sell before they spend, it’s never as easy as just offering money and getting a player in, us fans are not privy to the amount of stuff that goes on with contracts to get a player in, but in this situation with idah I’ve now heard it’s Celtics end this deal is being held up, and certain individuals in particular.

Of course it is Mick, and I suppose his initials are PL.

01 Aug 2024 11:37:19
I don't think Norwich can afford to pay someone 1 million a year if they are unhappy and not contributing.

01 Aug 2024 13:52:10
Mick, firstly interesting info of true.

But secondly, of course we're not privy. But why is it us that struggle to sign players? Other clubs don't seem to be having much issue.

Maedainparadise, Unfortunately as mentioned I won’t name any names as I respect this page as it’s for rumours, but there’s a few sources now with insider knowledge who have mentioned the same names in particular.

Henke, it’s difficult for us to sign players because from our side we make it difficult, and it’s down to those in particular who are holding things up. Signing a player involves multiple conversations, looking over contracts word for word, along with a host of other moving parts from clubs, agents, percentages etc.

All I will say is that in the 2 years Ange was with us, The manager had pretty much total control over signings providing they were realistic, it isn’t a coincidence that deals were done sharpish when ange was here and certain individuals weren’t interfering, now the opposite is happening.

Mick, I'm not being funny but the reason we got the deals done quickly when Ange was here was due to the fact that Japanese teams won't stand in the way of there players leaving especially to teams in Europe.
Not all signings were done quickly either, CCV and Jota were final day deals also it was only his first 2 windows that supposedly had total control according to some.
After that the mighty Ange brought in Baby L and his pal to run the transfer side of things and we can all see how badly that went.
Just think if Ange was still here we could have had Kwon falling over the ball in the middle of the park whilst Yang is running about like a headless chicken.
We might even have had Kobayashi partnering CCV at the back as Scales would have been punted as Ange didn't rate him.
