Stephen McGowan of the daily mail reporting Leicester want Reo, he’s normally well informed on Celtic . Bit worrying with the season just about to start and the form he is showing, don’t really want to lose him.

He's under contract until 2028 and apparently we've already knocked back an approach from Zenit St. Petersburg.
Like MOR, we need Harate and if he can stay fit sperhaps he can get back to his best this coming season.

If hatate can stay injury free and stay fit he can be every bit as influential as o'riley. that's a big IF though.
Its not something that's been mentioned much and i don't think we have even been linked with much but we seriously need to bring in an experienced DM. I shudder to think of going into them European games with McGregor as our holding Mf again.

I agree DT. I really thought, and hoped, that would be a position we'd get sorted sooner rather than later.
Question though: with a proper CDM, who drops out of that midfield for you?

That’s all we need. Our board tempted with even more money for the bank balance.

My opinion Hatate on form is our best cm.

Henke it won't happen but id actually drop mcgregor. A fully fit hatate is better than mcgregor IMO.
Another option would be to play hatate or oriley further forward.
I actually fear that's the way it will be though as rodgers loves mcgregor dropping deep to collect the ball from the defence.

DT, O'Riley would have to play. Between McGregor and Hatate I'm actually torn. McGregor is not a CDM. I get that domestically he is fine there picking up and driving forward but at CL level he's too slack in his passing and his timing in the tackle is best not talked about. Further forward he'd be sound. I get that an on song Hatate brings more energy and more chance of a goal. It would be a great headache to have.

I like hatate but Calmac all day for me. People are saying a fully fit Hatate is our best midfielder? Utter gash. Hatate has had a handful of excellent games, a lot of good games. But also an enormous amount of games where he couldn't pass the parcel at the kids birthday. Plus he isn't close to having the stamina of MOR or Cal. Please guys prove me wrong but i see Hatate still living on the hoals he scored early doors agsinst the homeless mob. Can someone name a performance of note in the last season and a half?

Love hatate and O’Riley for different aspects of their overall game hatate at Times his passing is precise and quick and really opens the game up for us plus can see a pass that Kyogo can read and if he plays well we usual or on fire. Orileys goal and assists the last year have been phenomenal and getting him involved in game we generally perform well and win. The only thing I’d say if they aren’t feeling it and don’t perform they don’t do the dirty side of the game get the boot in and break up the rhythm and both drift to the periphery of the game for spells. For me the most important member of our side is McGregor he sets the tone for the pace we play the players both mentioned above can only dream of having that desire and will to win and general tenacity that McGregor shows even when he’s not playing well or has misplaced a few passes. He starts every game for me while he’s fit and able to boss the midfield.

I definitely agree lads that we need a solid, quality defensive midfielder in along with another solid centre half and someone a bit more physical than Taylor at left back, think this needs to happen for us to be more solid and difficult to beat in Europe, I’m sick of getting embarrassed and losing poor goals in Europe. Obviously nothing is a guarantee but being more solid improves your chances.
In terms of the midfield situation you guys are talking about, I think mcgregor is a must to start, he’s the captain and has such an influence on the park on the rest of the lads around him, he’s very good at holding the ball and playing out aswell. I think what we need to do in Europe is play a double pivot with 2 defensive mids with one attacking midfielder, this allows us to be more compact and doesn’t leave mcgregor isolated which happens far too often when hatate and O’riley play. I think we need more legs beside mcgregor to do the running as he’ll be 31 soon and he might be starting to lose a little bit of mobility, same as what happened with broony before.
I’ve got a feeling hatate or O’Riley will be away this summer if we get a big offer, not both of them thought if one goes then the other can play that more advanced midfielder I’m talking about in Europe, I’m led to believe Bernardo is a done deal which gives another option, time will tell though.
