Unfortunately Celtic haven’t got the strength in depth to allow Welsh to leave, similar to Kobayashi in January.
Although I do think it would be beneficial for Welsh to play consistently for a full season.
But
Although Celtic have plenty players in this position, we are very weak.

I'd agree with you on that BuzzBomb.
Of the six first team squad CB's above, listed in order of how I'd
rank them, we've got a big problem with strength in depth I. e. we don't have it.
We've effectively got two CB's out of six who can do a job. The other four are either dross or unfancied by the manager.
We need to sign another 2 CB's or sign one and promote one of the youngsters to the first team squad.

There is an argument for putting scales ahead of CCV as Scales has played 10/ 12 SPL games more than CCV . No team can afford to have, a so called top player missing about one third of the games any season . Scales on the other hand was virtually a starter in nearly every game.

Scales causes his own problems continuously turning into trouble, taking bad touch and getting caught on the ball and in general his passing is fuck*g atrocious. He along with Taylor and ralston are squad players should be in and around first 11 to rest 1st team players or if there scan injury. So if anyone is in any doubt CCV is the only player alongside Alistair Johnstone that should start this campaign as 1st choice in their respective positions.

We need a CB better than CCV. Scales should be backup along with Rocki, although he is having no luck with injuries. Welsh and Kobayashi can both go, simply not good enough.

Des ccv hardly missed a game in his first season but was unlucky with Injuries last season. there's no way scales is in before him that's crazy talk.

Mallythetally to miss over one third of your schedule, isn’t necessary down to bad luck, it’s more likely a weakness in some part of body . Many other players who missed less were regarded as sick - notes etc . What worried me most was last nigh, he was nowhere near fit and ready for new season . Heaneyinglasgow u could be right but CCV missed more than one third of our games last season and thus contributed nothing . Can we rely on him to play 90-95% and thus regard him as defensive rock this season . Celtic mad .
