Maeda plays for japan next Tuesday at 10oclock in morning. Told he will be flown home straight after game for Sevconians game which is 7.45 Wednesday evening.

It’s likely that the entire Japan players that are based on Europe will be flown to a European hub on a charter flight immediately following the game. I’d guess Germany as they have a lot of players there. Then celtic could have a jet waiting for him in Germany. If they are considering bringing him back the sport science department will be consulting on the best way to do so, when he should sleep eat what time zones he should keep his body clock in etc.

Remember what happened to Effe Ambrose after he was rushed back into the team after playing in Africa, he had a nightmare, it affected his confidence, and he wasn't the same player again.

It'd be c.12-14 hrs to London from Tokyo, probably.
Mind there's a +10 hour time difference too, tho, so most of that would effectively disappear: it's just about feasible, especially if he only plays part of the game.

I hope not, jet lag and lack of energy then thrown into that type of match. Give him a rest. I'm pretty confident we will beat them anyway.

Big p i remember Efe was having a blinder for us that season until the African Cup of Nations, if i remember correctly he was rushed back for a European game and had a stinker, possibly costing us something in the game, memory isn't the best with the result but i do remember he was on good form and looked the part, and never really recovered after that European game.

Totally doable if planned properly. Travelling west doesn’t affect jet lag so much. Besides he’ll have so much adrenaline on the night it will get him through any tiredness.

Can't remember the Efe incident but if he crumbled at celtic after having one bad game. He would never had been a top player for us. Liked efe always tried.

It was when Juventus beat us 4-0 at Celtic park and the ball bounced over his head and then he was slow to react to another incident resulting in a goal pirlo was at his best that day though what a player.

If Maeda plays for Japan on Tuesday then has a long haul flight back there is no way he will be fit enough to play for us in a massive game on Wednesday ?.
