Davis has signed a pre contract.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Jan 2021 16:10:04
We need him now.

28 Jan 2021 16:26:21
I'm very glad I was wrong as I thought and said it was smoke and mirrors and that he would sign for Bournemouth.
This boy is a very, very good defender.

28 Jan 2021 16:30:01
A lot of Preston fans on social media say he's a good steady player who could have went for millions but they let his contract run down.

28 Jan 2021 16:44:24
MSM where reporting they want 2-2.5M. Which if true is ridiculous. We will probably offer 300k.

28 Jan 2021 16:44:57
Few reports saying sky have jumped the gun.

28 Jan 2021 17:29:02
Just heard he is looking likely to go to Bournemouth instead - not surprised given the state of Celtic right now.

{Ed007's Note - Heard from who?}

28 Jan 2021 17:42:42
Ben Pearson going to Bournemouth. Ben Davis coming to Celtic.

28 Jan 2021 17:49:14
Just a guy in work - I don’t kid on to have reliable sources 😂😂.

28 Jan 2021 18:22:28
According to some reports Celtic have said we still have a bit to go on the signing. Let's hope we can get it over the line, I hope this boy isn't another Duffy in disguise lol.

28 Jan 2021 18:22:31
We were looking at both but the major interest was Davis.

28 Jan 2021 18:53:57
The fear I have in this is does this saying that Lennon is staying as manager? Why bring in any new players IF Celtic are looking at bringing in a new manager who will want his own players.

28 Jan 2021 19:26:53
Maybe the new guy picked Davies.

28 Jan 2021 19:31:07
Tony celtic fans need to get this Bring in his own players out their heads.
Head coaches are not in charge of signings at most big clubs in the world. Directors of football and recruitment chiefs are employed for that. Yes head coaches get input but that's what it is, input.

28 Jan 2021 19:35:17
I can only hope marco pal. Because any sort of respect I have had on Lennon is going fast the longer he is the manager.

28 Jan 2021 20:23:51
The new popular way of working is the recruitment team (dof, chief scout, board, manager) pick players who fit a characteristic and style for the club. It gives continuity if a manager leaves so the new guy doesn’t come in and want to sell 11 and buy 11 then last 6 months and go through it all again.

{Ed007's Note - It's not new, Degsy it's been that way for years around the world. It's only in more recent times - the last maybe 10 years or so - that clubs in the UK have started using it.}

28 Jan 2021 20:37:47
It’s fairly new in uk football. European and South American clubs favoured head coaches ahead of managers way before we adopted it.
I’m not overly keen, but I understand it based on the money involved and the fact that managers in England get sacked during matches for conceding corners.

{Ed007's Note - 😂😂😂

28 Jan 2021 20:39:40
Its been happening in Europe for about 20 years.

28 Jan 2021 21:02:32
Why would sky pre announce Davis deal are they trying to piss off the celtic fans.

28 Jan 2021 21:51:45
Marco1888, that'll be Alex Neil lol HH.

28 Jan 2021 23:37:43
Yeah prob mate I was hoping lennon would walked away, he must know the fans are starting to loose any respect they had for him. I was dubious about him getting the job in the first place but when the board backed him with cash I thought ok this might work. How wrong was I lol.
