An American site has linked us with Brendan Aaronson. He's a CM/ CAM for Philadelphia union. Seems he's coveted by a good few German clubs also.

He's played over 50 first team games and is already a full international lawman. From the footage I've seen he's got a touch like Rogic but his body doesn't seem to be made of chocolate.

Kevbhoy - he does sound a good prospect but I don't think he would go straight into the first team. Similar to Soro and Klimala.

Hate to admit but McGregor is better than Bain but on the way down with age and he’s started picking up injuries. Iv no doubt we would get Forster for £5m but board won’t pay it due to age and lack of value selling on.
If we could have Forster or boy from AEK who would you choose?
Personally I’d go Forster still get 5 good seasons out him and there’s no gamble on settling in etc. I know some would rather AEK keeper due to potential sell on and because he does come highly rated but sometimes you have to accept that a profit can’t be made on every player and GK is too important a position to be taking any gambles on, Bain is more than able no 2.

@GGGG, I don't understand your point about the board not paying the money when there was a fee agreed with Southampton already. I'll never understand supporters who base who they want the club to sign based on sell-on value. Forster is tried, tested and proven quality.

And by the looks of it he's the one that pulled out. on the subject of money we paid 9 mill for eddy so we will pay it if it's a good deal 32 is relatively young for a keeper. sevcos no 1 is nearly 40 and I agree is better than bain.

Kevbhoy there was no fee agreed with Southampton it was another loan deal with potential option to buy if we were willing to open cheque book we would have signed him then. Media stated Forster wanted to stay and fight for place rather than leave on loan. I don’t know what is true but that’s what I read.
We have spent £9m on 1 player in recent years but not many others with big outlays considering what’s been received in fees.

Forster is supposed to be on £90 grand a week at Southampton, why would he want to come here to take a pay cut, why would we want him here if it means paying an even more obscene wage to him, he is not worth it, go back and look at his statistics pre Christmas and in Europe, they are nothing special, a better performing outfield team is more important than paying an inflated wage to an overated goalie, look at Man United with De Gea, get that Greek guy in, if he is any good.

From what I've watched Greek lad looks good but isn't close to how Forster played last year I think we are going to struggle to find a keeper of his quality this year and Bain is not Celtic class so it's time for Hammond to do his job and Peter to get the cheque book out or we will be in trouble this season bhoys.
