As with the derby defeat our complacent attitude continues to be a big problem. Our central midfielders are no where near good enough to take us forward.
Mcgregor is the best of a bad bunch and is well into his 30s now. he's naturally in decline.
Hatate is horrendous and needed punted in the summer let alone this summer.
I can't see how engles will improve. he's been ok but not good enough to justify his fee.
All 3 realistically need replaced or we won't improve.
I was very impressed by schluup early on but he's been dreadful lately too.
Our CB problem again showing its head. Trusty, scales and nawrocki are backup players at best. Ccv is the best of an average bunch and again this seriously needs seeing too. I just don't know what it is with us and CBs but its like we sign 10 CBs and maybe 2 are a success. That worrying trend needs to change.
AJ has been very poor too but his quality can't be questioned.
As for kuhn it seems he is believing in his own hype and is perhaps looking ahead to the summer for a move. He has been dreadful and needs benched for the rest of the season and give yang an opportunity.
Since we got knocked out of europe i can honestly say there are only 2 players with pass marks and that's maeda and jota. No one else has done anywhere near enough and that's a huge concern.

Maeda has been excellent but I think Jota has been pretty disappointing.

Jota hasn't played much football before coming back, get a good pre season under his belt he'll be flying next season. khun most definitely doesn't deserve a start on Saturday, and in all honesty could consider himself fortunate to even make the match squad. being subbed after 45 mins twice out the last 3 games is bloody ridiculous. as for the CM. I agree on hatate, hisbtimes up at feltic and looks like a gut going through the motions, has done for a long time now. As for engles, I still can't see what type of midfielder he is, I get he's young and raw but for £11million I'm expecting a bit more than he's shown. I've said it constantly now for long enough, how any team can lose such an influential player as Broony was for us, to not have replaced him is criminal. we've shoehorned mcgregor into his role and it's not his best position. yes mcgregor is getting on now, but he'd be far more beneficial to the team playing up 1.we so badly need that no nonsense broony/ lennon type in the midfield. watching hatate and engles every week is wasted jerseys. surely this weekend bernardo and mccowan need a run out and get hatate engles and khun out that starting 11.

The excellent attacking football and free-scoring performances in the opening months of the season have all but disappeared.
Is it complacency, fatigue, reaction to CL exit or lack of serious domestic competition? Whatever the reason, we have regressed into old habits pf predictably pedestrian displays littered with basic errors. Even some of the managers decisions with selection and substitutions are head-scratching when we can all see who are under-performing.
Losing Schmeichel may be a factor, but I'm running out of excuses.
Celtic teams of recent years would be flying to the finish with the chance of a title and cup to win. I do agree there are players out there who for whatever reason are nowhere near their best form. Answers on a postcard.

I was helluva frustrated watching it yesterday. I'll agree that some of the players are jaded, tired or not up to the standard we expect from a Celtic player. However, when Kuhn, Johnston and Engles came in they were excellent - crowd pleasers. Add the Japananese players in as well. I don't think it's the players to blame here - I blame the system they are playing. What system did Kuhn play in Austria? Engels in Germany? Johnson in Canada? I bet you it wasn't death by passing. The number of irrelevant passes that were happening during the game bored me to tears - it must have been hell for the players. Is that whu Kuhn and Engels are regressing? Go into the opposition's box and you have 8-10 Celtic players and the whole of the opposition team - that's about 19-21 players. Look at the combination of passes that can happen with that amount? Sometimes leathering the ball, shelling it or whatever usually resets everything. I think the biggest culprits in the team are the two central defenders and the captain. The system, based on yesterday and in the OF game is definitely broken.

Heard BR saying the reason Trusty got playing yesterday was that BR preferred a left footer playing at LCB. Trusty didn't look good yesterday yet Nawrocki was excellent the previous two games. I'm a left footer, so based on BRs' logic I would have had a game before Nawrocki?

I’m surprised the criticism Trusty has received from the match yesterday because I thought he was okay.
He made one mistake but rectified that mistake.
Our bigger problems were higher up the park.
{Ed007's Note - I think both Trusty & CCV lack any real physical presence and neither of them can aerially dominate a game.}

It doesn’t sit right with me talking about an eleven million pound player not good enough for the price as if £11 m was an expensive player in this day and age . Is it not ironic that our Board was been severely criticised only 2 years ago as been misery Tories not prepared to pay more than £5/ 6 m for a player, and by doing that depriving our manager of the quality of players needed for a club like Celtic to improve
Last summer we spent £11 and £9 million on a midfielder and striker and Board and Manager are criticised for wasting ( our money ) by spending too much money on these two players .
Neither BR or Board have the value of hindsight when they signed both these players, I would be pretty confident that that they didn’t spend £1 more than they had to, in order to sign either player . If an EPL team bought both or either there would be no major discussions on the money spent.
