The Celtic Board out of sync with our supporters again.

Agree1 Disagree0

I appreciate I am in the minority on this page, and I respect other’s opinions, but I genuinely think the vast majority of supporters (most of whom are not vocal online) back the board over the GB every time.

{Ed007's Note - I know that most of the supporters I speak to online and in real life back the GB although a few have some issues with them regarding pyro especially.
I can't comment on what other people have never said to me - I'll leave that to you - but I think you're wrong.}

I appreciate different folks will have different opinions, I guess we must keep different company, most of my friends, colleagues, people I sit with seem to be on the same page as me.

But this is the whole point, the fan base does not speak with one voice, I’d never believe I spoke on behalf of all Celtic fans, I think the problem with people on my side is that the GB often think they do.

I’m not going to fall out with anyone over it, in the grand scheme it’s not that important to me, but I do think we need to appreciate there are Celtic fans with very different opinions, politics, outlooks, beliefs. No one is more of a Celtic fan than any of the others.

{Ed007's Note - You should get them to join the forum to give a better balance. I find it's people "on your side" that think (think being the operative) the GB - it's always the GB isn't it, never the North Curve or BHOYS - speak on behalf of all Celtic fans just use that as an excuse to moan about them.
The GB don't think they do, it's you and "your side" that think the GB do.}

What was up with the tifo buzz?

14 Mar 2025 14:57:04
Steff,
I don’t think the Tifo for Sunday was an issue.
I believe it’s a punishment from the Celtic Board due to recent tifo’s.

I don't know a single Celtic fan that does not back Palestine and I have quite a wide social range of friends. Some of them are even in the fancy seats at Celtic Park. Many of them hold jobs in respected professions, down to some right dodgy scallywags. ?.

i reckon its the board rubbishting it that well upset the mutants and cause a riot after letting them back in. just seems like very strange timing? youd think theyd want the "atmosphere" back?

14 Mar 2025 15:35:57
There's a diversity of opinion on all things Celtic. Even the definition of 'all things Celtic' means different things across the fan base. To me that's healthy. I know my thoughts on some issues are probably out of kilter with those who may not be in the majority (they might be, I don't know) , but who are the most vocal. As long as there's respect and tolerance in that difference in views. The bottom line is we all want the team to do well and win football games.

Have a poll on it, think you will be surprised.

14 Mar 2025 18:09:44
There’s no point having a poll because we will have outsiders from the other page voting.

Even if the dispute wasn’t about the tifo for Sunday and was about previous Tifo’s I believe the Board may have a right to take action, someone must take responsibility.
In my opinion disputes and disagreements over Tifos have been going on that long that its unbelievable adults on the Board an adult members of the GB, North Curve etc can’t have a dispute resolution committee that when called into action, decision is binding on all people . This DRC should be a very under worked group as both those who erect Tifos and our Board must know exactly what the guidelines are for what is permitted and what isn’t .
We should enjoy the Tifos, they should be a good laugh for us, but as the bigger and more successful club we shouldn’t be going out of way to pour scorn and hurt at opponents or people we really don’t like or cross a line that can put club in bother.

15 Mar 2025 01:55:15
The banner and tifos are fantastic, some people don't like the truth, pyro on other hand is accident waiting to happen in my opinion.

15 Mar 2025 12:52:36
There is a reasonable chance that many of our supporters enjoy the banners and tifos . However we don’t know whether it’s a majority of our fans or not . We usually hear from those who think they are great and add to their enjoyment, and also we hear from those who hate them with a vengeance.
Surely we have people who can produce funny Tifos which can at same time get their message across. Whilst we should be able to get message across, we should be man enough to not hurt and be obnoxious to people who hold different views . We should be above the low level of hatred displayed by OO and other groups who give Tifo’s to Ibrox support.

We do know that it is a significant number of fans and here is how we know.

When Ange was the manager there was a riff between the board and the fans groups. In protest the fans groups refused to sing, cheer, clap or celebrate. During this period a large number of fans in the stadium joined in the protest.

16 Mar 2025 00:23:48
Weejoe, I have to say I have agreed with most of your posts for quite a while now, however I am not sure that the non singing of our fans as a whole during
periods when fan groups have stopped singing in protest doesn’t mean a lot . There are large areas of our stadium where our fans remain very quiet except for individuals shouting in praise or in ridicule . I can’t agree that the fans in general not singing are showing support for the groups not singing.
