With our recruitment team seemingly struggling to secure a striker, I thought we could lend them a hand with some suggestions.

I see Cristiano Ronaldo is out of contract in the summer-any chance we could tempt him to the East End of Glasgow? No? Fair enough.

Jonathan David is also set to be a free agent, but he'll likely have plenty of suitors from Europe's top leagues. Joking aside, let's focus on realistic, up-and-coming options that could actually be affordable for Celtic.

Potential Celtic Targets
Mathias Kvistgaarden
Club: Brøndby IF
Age: 22
Position: Striker
Strengths: Quick, aggressive, intelligent movement, and a relentless work rate. A strong pressing forward, ideal for Celtic's system.
Transfer Fee Estimate: Brøndby has set a high price, previously rejecting Celtic's bids. Likely to cost around €10M.

Facundo Colidio
Club: River Plate
Age: 25
Position: Striker
Strengths: Physically strong, quick, and well-suited to the Scottish Premiership. Has matured into a reliable forward.
Transfer Fee Estimate: Likely available for €5M or less due to his contract expiring in December 2025.

Matheus Nascimento
Club: Botafogo
Age: 20
Position: Forward (best as a No. 10)
Strengths: Highly skillful, versatile, and still developing. Great sell-on potential.
Transfer Fee Estimate: Could be secured for under €5M.

Jerónimo Dómina
Club: Unión de Santa Fe
Age: 18
Position: Attacking Midfielder / Second Striker
Strengths: Technically gifted, creative, and has excellent vision. Still raw but with high potential.
Transfer Fee Estimate: Likely available for under €3M.

Other Affordable Up-and-Coming Strikers in Europe

Mohamed Amoura
Club: Union Saint-Gilloise (Belgium)
Age: 23
Position: Striker
Strengths: Clinical finishing, rapid acceleration, and intelligent positioning. Has been outstanding in Belgium.
Transfer Fee Estimate: Around €15M.

Roko Šimić
Club: RB Salzburg
Age: 20
Position: Striker
Strengths: A physical and mobile forward with a strong goal-scoring instinct. Would fit well in Celtic's system.
Transfer Fee Estimate: Likely around €5-6M.

Benjamin Šeško (Ambitious Option)
Club: RB Leipzig
Age: 20
Position: Striker
Strengths: Tall, powerful, great in the air, and composed in front of goal. Already a proven talent in the Bundesliga.
Transfer Fee Estimate: Probably out of Celtic's budget, but worth monitoring if Leipzig considers a loan deal.

Conclusion
Celtic desperately needs a proper No. 9, and the options above represent attainable, high-potential strikers who could make an impact. Given our board's reluctance to spend big, someone like Colidio, Amoura, or Šimić could be the best fit. Hopefully, the recruitment team is paying attention!

Sesko ambitious is an under statement he'd cost £50 million plus. Also there is absolutely no chance Leipzig would consider loaning out their main striker.

In the summer I think we will probably go in for Kvistgaarden again.

Signing a striker is one position that BR and Board I think will be even more careful when signing than most other positions. Difficultly may be eased if Idah improves on his recent form and continues to score regularly.
Just for reason above I would be loath to sign South American striker . I don’t think we have been well served often by South Americans. I think BR scrutinises most incoming players very careful, as he has put himself clearly in the responsibility seat.

Sesko ?.

To be fair I knew Benjamin Šeško was a pipe dream but would would be some signing, as would Jonathan David but never going to happen.

Big adam is going to next level stuff and super jonny Kenny will follow. Play the system that suits and let's see what they can become.

I am not disagreeing Philphlop but we also need a third striker for squad depth.

Celtic should be employing you Weejoe ?.

@Buzz - Should get AJ to put in a good word for us with Jonathan David.

Isn’t one of our problems a lack of height?

Daizen Maeda? He's far better as a ST than a winger. If he is to be classed as a winger he needs to improve on his touch, dribble and crossing ability. No doubt he can finish though!
