I know it is early doors but what do you think our chances are of winning our third 9 in a row?

Dare I say it, or winning 10 in a row?

If the board keep investing wisely in recruitment and ensure we keep getting the manager right, then I see no reason why we can't do it. What do you guys think?

If the Board back him he will be here till 5 in a row. Then a few years extension if they are both working in tandem and with his ego he will oversee the 10.They will always be in his shadow whilst he's in Scotland.

Weejoe . I am not happy that we have a big enough or good enough recruitment team . I am sure that our Board is prepared to put enough effort and skill into building a recruitment team to the size and expertise to keep us ahead of our
SPL rival teams and the other known and unknown factors that prevail against us .
By recruitment I mean first team ready players and younger players who will mature into first team players . Also replacement managers, first team expert skill coaches and underage coaches capable of developing our better youth players into first team Celtic players . Board must attempt to do more, if possible to prevent young players capable of playing first team Celtic players of the future from leaving.

Steff, I hope our board speak to Brendan in the summer and offer him an extension. If he has no intention of signing an extension, then the board should be lining up his replacement immediately.

Wee des, I think we do ok with our recruitment but there is certainly room for improvement. Like you, I see no reason why we can't have a world class, recruitment, coaching and development team. Obviously, we cannot compete in the transfer window with the richer nations, which is why we need to look around other ways to bridge the gap. That being said, I do think we are on the right track and we have done amazing to grow our revenue and have had decent success with player trading.

You never know what's round the corner regarding player movement and managers getting 'better offers' as we have seen in recent years. BR's contract was for three years originally. However, if The Board match his ambition and objectives, we have every chance of maintaining our dominance and improving in Europe, all being well.

We may well get 9 but 10 is not going to happen, in my opinion. It would completely destroy them and I don't believe the guys at the top truly want that.

06 Feb 2025 18:56:33
It’s definitely possible and I don’t see why we can’t dominate for another generation at least.

Taylor’s new club Dinamo Zagreb are currently on a run of 18 titles from their last 19 seasons.
Their only exception was our proper Invincible season in 2016/ 17.
They have a fight on their hands this season and are currently sitting 2nd in the table only 2 points behind.

HT, what nonsense, to say our board would deliberately wreck our chances of getting the 10 in case it destroys them.

I just cannot understand the thought process that makes someone think so little of the board, the club, that they would do that.

We maybe didn't sign a striker this window and to be honest the 2 I read about weren't worth the money being discussed, but that is in no way the board trying to ruin our chances or keep sevco close enough to us to give them hope.

That kind of thinking is unbelievable, we spent 9 million on a striker in the summer, why wouldn't we use him as our main striker.

Last night shows how this team can score from anywhere.

If Idah gets injured, Maeda will step in with Jota and Kuhn, so a new striker coming would probably not have started against Bayern in any case imo.

@maeda let me start by saying I don't think our board would deliberately jeopardize winning the league.

However, I do understand why some of the fans mistrust them. Our board helped resurrect them but pretend they didn't. They also refused to back resolution 12 and go after them and the SFA for duping us out of the champions league in 2011.

07 Feb 2025 07:51:36
Wow, everything goes back to 2012.

If our board all leave and are replaced by a board with identical business planning, that will be okay, as they are not those involved back then.

We need to move on as nothing will ever be done about that, all concerned have made that clear. We need to hold them to account for how they run our club today and not measure that with what they did in 2012.

We came out stronger and they died.

Maeda, its me being cynical. But did they truly believe NL was an upgrade or suitable replacement for BR? The Covid season was a disgrace from pre-season and only confirmed my thoughts about getting the 10. Like it or not, the league is stronger when its more competitive. To attract good players we need to dangle a carrot in the form of Glasgow Derbies and Champions league games.

10 in a row without success of some kind in Europe is meaningless.
