If you add transfer fees to wages paid we are paying huge amounts for defenders who don't play or can't defend, Trusty £7m + est £20k pw equates to £65k over 3 years - although he may stay longer after 3 years his value will be? If we take Nawrocki and LagerB at £15k pw that's another £42k and £36k pw. Combined £143k pw. All about opinions but as we are clearly not very good at picking defenders (our attempts at LB are just as bad) then getting KT for free, injuries accepted, is still a no brainer. Would he have lost the 2 duals that Trusty did last night?

I'm on the fence with Tierney, Chinks. IF he stays fit we're getting a very good player. But playing him at CB isn't going to take us forward.
I wasn't bliwn away at all when we signed Trusty and still need to be convinced. When you look at us spending millions on CBs and loaning them out then it's just going to boil down to the old, it's not whatvwe spend but how we spend it.

I think trusty has done OK but last night especially 2nd half he was soft, his passing is OK but he got bullied and even ccv at times git found out a bit, let's hope it was just one of them nights.

Feck me lads. Trusty had one bad performance in a game we never lost n you're writing the guy off. My post yesterday was exactly about this sort of thing.
He’s been solid for us when he’s played. A couple of hiccups but that happens now n again.

He had a bad game and am not writing him off but you have to be honest.
15 Jan 2025 11:40:01
What do you mean by writing him off?
15 Jan 2025 11:45:17
More in reply to Chinks mate. Apparently he can’t defend! I’m pretty sure if he wasn’t on the park against Atalanta we’d have lost that game!

I like trusty but think he is low on confidence at the moment.
He has all the attributes to be a good defender for us. He just needs more concentration and more aggression.

Any defender we have look good as long as they can generally pass a ball, it's the type of game like last night that shows the stature of a defender, he is very weak physically and seems to overthink a natural defending action, there is zero difference between scales and Trusty, we will dominate most games but last night was certainly another advertisement as to how to play against us, Trusty was certainly not the only one weak into challenges, lot of pulling out from other players both who started and who came on, but like your points make out its a relentless fixture requirement, but doesn't excuse lack of quality.

It was a set back for Trusty last night.
First impressions wasn’t great but he was playing out of position on the right.
Trusty has shown since that he’s a decent player and he will be embarrassed with the outcome from last night.
I’m certain he will once again lose his place this Saturday but his Celtic career has only just started and he will get plenty more chances to show that he’s a good player.

Tierney hasn't scored a hattrick against sevco so it's a no for me.

Trusty needs to adapt to the more physical side of Scottish football and time to settle a bit like Boyota when he 1st came, Lyndon Dykes used to throw him about like a scud book and he turned out not to bad for us?.
15 Jan 2025 14:50:38
Think your maybe thinking about julienne troy although i don't think he ever got used to the physical side of our game. Boyata was away by the time they signed dykes.
15 Jan 2025 16:40:34
It was Chris Jullian that struggled to contain the physical presence of Dykes.
Jullian was still a good player,
So Trusty needs to learn from last night and move on.

The boy who scored from the corner got in Trusty’s head. Trusty was more concerned of what he was doing rather than concentrating on the ball. That cost us the goal. Trusty rarely gets beat in the air!
I’d say it was quite an impressive piece of manipulation from the Dundee player!

We normally play an attacking formation . This can often leave two big forwards waiting to husle either of our centre backs . . If a striker gets any change out of defender he becomes even more robust and with our centre backs often isolated they look more and more unable to manage their player .
We might need to think of getting another defender in close to help our men out.
