Whilst last night was in the end fairly comfortable, for large parts of the 2nd half we were very flat. The front three offered very little and Yang had so many chances to take on his man down the line and never attempted it once. Its clear he is lacking confidence and too often cut back or inside looking for easy pass. Engles put in some great balls early doors and no movement to attack them. With wingers offering so little last night would have been perfect opportunity to throw on Kyogo with Idah and an extra midfielder and go 4-4-2. When we replaced Yang with Hatate that was half way right, just needed to sub Maeda off rather than Idah. Safe win though and hopefully our form from 2 months ago will return. Engles easily MOM, always looking for killer pass and played with tempo and energy throughout. Both fullbacks decent also.

Was a fairly comfortable win. Agree about Yang, but he’s not alone. Starting to wonder if wingers are being given implicit instructions not to go down the line. All of them either turn back or go inside to an already overcrowded area, it makes no sense! Don’t think Idah done himself any favours either, on several occasions he was given the ball in a bit of space ( albeit only a few yards ) on the edge of the box and instead holding it to try and create something, he just batted it back 20 yards. Also why is no one capable of shooting from outside the box? We’re not going to find 5 yards of space in an already overcrowded box no matter how many passes we make around the edge, but getting wide may stretch defences. If we are being istyled to play a possession based game for Europe that’s fine but it’s not necessary for most SPL games.

Yang is nowhere near good enough don't think I've ever seen him take a man on the outside constantly cuts inside and passes the buck, need better.

When our wingers do reach the byline the ball is regularly hit straight across goal.
This is inevitably hits a defender or the keeper, or goes straight over to the other wing.
Why no cut back, the cut back favours the attackers facing goal.
Point two, corners hitting the first defender, no excuse for that, waste of an opportunity.
{Ed007's Note - On the subject of Yang, go back and watch him over time and he used to beat his man and hit the byline regularly but Rodgers doesn't want his wingers doing - except maybe inside the box - that hence the cut inside or backwards pass. When does Kuhn ever take a man on and hit the byline to cross it in from a proper wide position, when do any our wingers do it? That's down to the manager.
I think Yang has a lot of technical ability, and I think Rodgers sees that too but the question is, can Yang change and become a Rodgers type winger? I think a year out on loan with another SPFL team next season would do Yang a power of good.}

ONE goal in a 6-0 home victory in 47 Celtic appearances in all competitions is not good enough for a forward type player.

I think Yang has something and more mins on pitch will get him there, he’s lucky we have the other players and winnning team with points on board allowing him possibly time and mins to find his way - but I think we’ll be looking to sign in that area so that will disappear, for me get boy on loan let someone else develops him, in terms of Rodgers style Ed’s right things he’s good at just now may be coached out of him so needs to develop in other areas,
Meada did hit by line last night a dozen times it’s just his cross never got by first man, last night I thought we where great the first half scoreline didn’t match that or be better than weekend but there was clearly intention on keeping ball flowing and forward passes, I was really happy with last nights performance.

Yang has bags of technical ability but so has palma but you look at khun his pace how direct he is and his goals sets him apart and we could be doing with another like him.
