During this boring international break I was watching some old Celtic v Rangers games (when they were Rangers lol)
I am talking about games 40 years ago when Ibrox like Celtic Park still had terraces behind the goals and enclosures under the main stand.
Anyway, my point is back then both teams got about 10,000 tickets for each others grounds, the tv games I watched brought back memories of games I actually was at, and at Ibrox not only did we get all the Broomloan end, but also part of their old Govan stand plus half the stand enclosure as well, it really did enhance the atmosphere having such a large away support.

Good times but the Scotland's Shame who occupied the seats above our allocated part of the Ipox enclosure would spit on us below. Class eh. Still, I remember times when they'd be leaving early with us singing 'Cheerio, cheerio' to them ??.

Their demise in 2012, after we found out that they had cheated Scottish football for over a decade changed everything.

They went into the Blender, were Liquidised to a Pulp, and flushed down the Toilet.
Undeniable, irretrievable, final.

An early memory of mine was in 1972 at Celtic Park crammed into the Celtic end because our usual spot in the Jungle was jam packed.
I found it strange to see and hear so many opposing fans even though they were well outnumbered and the the game was not as easy as I was used to - even though we played some brilliant football.
Jim Brogan scored a late winner to finish it 2-1. Happy times.
Those days are long gone because of their sins and shame and to be honest I will never feel the same about that rivalry, no matter how much they (and the media) cling onto the obsolete O F tag.

Being ex HMRC, my role sometimes involved updating records of employers who sadly had to cease trading. Said employer at that point became defunct. Kaput, whatever you want to call it. So stripping away emotions, they ceased to exist. I suspect the 'continuity' was allowed as there would have been serious public disorder otherwise.
