Alexandro Bernanbei has been performing so well on loan that there's been chat of an Argentina call up. I was delighted to see the back of him and would be happy enough for him to move on permanently but I wonder if the manager would fancy giving him another shot with Valle being a loan and Taylor's contract situation.

The talk of a call up was a random journalist who wanted him called up for Brazil even though he's Argentinian. By all accounts he has done well but don't really see him getting another chance here.

Guys I read that officials from International were coming over to discuss a transfer fee and that Celtic would not be hard to deal with as long as recoup the £3.4m we paid for him.
Also apparently Luis Palma has inpressed on International duty and has raised his profile as well.
Maybe come January we can sell him also and raise some cash for our own transfer budget.

Fair enough DC. I only just read the headline but if he's doing well elsewhere I'd say it's probably best for all parties for him to move on.

Agree kev seen a report we were looking for as much as 8 million for him. Surely not I'd be happy to get our money back for what we paid.

Bernabei is a decent enough player and will no doubt have a good career. It’s just simply that South Americans very rarely settle well in Scotland, I don’t know why, but it’s obviously a cultural thing. We’ve had so many South Americans over the last 20/ 30 years and not one has made any sort of impact that you’d expect. They can’t all be bad players, must be more to it. I always wince whenever I see us linked with a South American now, you just know it won’t work out.

@gerrymurphy, I don’t agree Izzaguire made an impact.
