I've been quite critical in the past of Maeda's returns. Never questioned his work rate, energy and pace combined to be a great asset to the side, but just felt he should score more. He has since, started to score more. But most notably, he's enjoying himself more it appears. He used to be expressionless, never really celebrated. But now, he cheers with the crowd and has a smile on his face. Perhaps BR has done something, perhaps he's just more settled. But either way it's quite a relief to see. I still would have liked to see us sign a wide attacker but I have a wee gut feeling Maeda could have a great season.

What he brings to team outweighs his weaknesses.

If Maeda had any technical ability he’d be playing for Man City!

The improvement in Maeda (not to mention Kuhn, Scales, and Bernardo) is in no small part down to one of the best managers in business - BR!
He has a lot of qualities but making good players even better is his best one. And btw Ange had just about given up on wee Jamsie… look at him go now under BR ?.

Defo a Cult Hero, JFP ?
Absolutely Ken, he'll still have a heavy touch, cross one into the stand and miss good chances but if he wasn't doing that, as you say, he'd be elsewhere. I just think he'll add to his game and there's definitely a change in his demeanour.
I like to think so Rogician, there's a lot I like about Ange, and there's a lot dislike about BR. But when MO'R says he preferred the man management style and atmosphere under BR no reason others don't either.
