so you're man city. You have endless cash. You decide you want a 29 yo striker with a dodgy shoulder that misses as many as he scores and bid 18 mil. Read that again lol. Something is really weird about this one.

Think celtic want 22m. Fri deadline.

Remember we beat man city recently and Kyogo had a great game. I am guessing that comes into pep's thinking if this rumour is true.

I agree. They have the footballing world at their feet and subject to ffp ( a raw nerve for nan city) , what do they see in a 29 year old with a dodgy shoulder in a Mickey mouse league. If it's not bs, could Celtic arrange a player swap or loan for one of their fringe players for a position we're weak in?

22 Aug 2024 22:19:48
Aye sell O’Riley and Kyogo our best player and first choice striker when with 7 days left in the window and 3 weeks before champions league we were already needing half a team.

No chance what we have masquerading as a recruitment team is pulling 5 rabbits out of a hat such that we end this window stronger than we came into to it.

Disgrace.

We can’t even get feckn Daniel Kelly’s paperwork sorted.

I was reserving judgement and avoiding raining on the positive posters parade.

But we’re getting a third jersey and a free tammie if we join the Celtic lottery. Just how far off reading the room are they?

I’m hoping for the best and fearing the worst although was never anything other than prepared to be disappointed.

Why don’t we just forget football and join the west of Scotland feckn bowling league.

9 iar .19 -20 mill and you want a fringe player on loan . if indeed true I want the lot on a top class replacement and similar with mor if he goes . if this happens and we go into the rest of the season without these two and possibly hatate with no top quality replacements I can see the new manager sneaking out a back door again only this time I wouldn't hold it against him.

22 Aug 2024 22:43:12
Should've said fringe player (only if it suits us, ie upgrade on Scales or GT) plus an as near as possible like for like replacement for Kyogo. I stand by my gut that amazing though he's been, I think we should take any offer if the money is good. Can we trust the board to deliver a like for like in terms of quality? That's another issue and I get fans distrust.

Pep's no2 at City right now is Kyogo's old manager from Vissel Kobe in Japan, He has obviously sold Pep on the wee man along with his performances over the summer and last season in Champions league.

{Ed007's Note - Kyogo's agent is pushing this, he is trying to get Kyogo and another client into City this window. Would you sign Kyogo on the back of his CL performances?

I thought he done quite well last season, Certainly an improvement on the year before.

I was listening to the guy who broke the story on Monday a man called Sam Lee from the Athletic and he said that last Wednesday he was told that City would prefer a for a forward with experience, who wasn't going to be too expensive and would be happy to sit on the bench. He was told not to say anything then over the Weekend he was given the name and it was Kyogo hence him breaking the story on Monday morning, so when you also add the link that City no2 at the moment is Kyogo's old manager from Vissel Kobe in Japan then it does make a bit of sense. He also did say that it was between Kyogo and 1 other player who was infact much younger sp it isn't a given that it will happen. If they do make a bid though because they think he will fit into the way they play then if anyone in our team deserves that opportunity then it is him and it would wrong of the club to deny him that. You may or may not agree that is just my opinion though.

Man city have the players that would spot kyogos runs and he would terrorise defences running in behind.

23 Aug 2024 05:22:31
He would score goals there for fun, and its a massive shop window for us if city buy a player from us more players would be interested in coming to us.

Why we haven't looked in that J league market again is beyond me, cheap players of real quality nit like the European market.

I'll be gutted if he goes think he's quality.

23 Aug 2024 05:40:25
I was watching a podcast who mentioned that this report of Man C are interested just to try and hurry other interested clubs to make a bid, a bit of mischief making by his new agent.

Kyogo would fit city model, his movement and workrate would give the team something and pep won’t care who scores as long as city score, ffp may be the driver in this, they need haalannd back up and won’t want to spend 50 mil plus on one.
