11 days left of this window and still no new left back or new CB is anyone optimistic about the next 11 days for Celtic to bring in quality new players to improve the playing side? Now it looks more likely that MOR will be away in that 11 days. With it taking Celtic 8 weeks to bring in Idah I don't hold up hope of them bringing in a quality replacement in the time remaining far less any other positions that BR was looking for.

Yes I do.

It’s probably best that M’OR leaves ASAP because although he hasn’t asked to move, he also hasn’t committed himself to Celtic by saying he wants to stay.

It’s no good selling him next week or at the last minute and then it gives Celtic the excuse not to get a suitable replacement.

Matt will be a big miss because he was always available and his goals and assists ratio are superb.

If O'Shea is the only CB back identified then that's is a disgrace from the recruiting team. also If tenneman or Engels where identified as replacements for mor why buy Bernardo and not one or both of them. then losing mor and even hatate (whose departure wouldn't really upset me) wouldn't be be the catastrophe it will be if both leave now.

{Ed007's Note - Bernardo and MOR are totally different types of players, there's no way he was brought in to replace MOR, I'd say he's better suited to replace Hatate.}

Most clubs tend to have replacements lined up when big players are departing.

Im hoping and praying Celtic have agreed terms in principle with at least one of the Austrian wonderkid or the American.

I'm not holding my breath though, can see this turn into a scramble!

Wasnt meaning to compare him to mor Ed just the fact that I don't think we really needed him and the money spent could have gone towards someone who is in the same style/ could as mor. also think mgowan would have been a better cheaper choice than Bernardo . again not comparing like for like?.

{Ed007's Note - By the end of the season the Celtic support will be talking about how mush of a bargain Bernardo was - oh and praising the board for it's shrewd negotiating in getting the fee down.}

I agree Edd I think Bernardo will surprise a lot of fans this year.

{Ed007's Note - ????

FS man our supporters complain that we need to start bringing in a higher calibre of player but then want a potential squad player from Dundee. Bernardo showed plenty of his potential last year to give real insight into the player he will develop into. We signed the Portugal under 21 captain for a bargain price after getting to see first hand his potential.

You don't often get exact like for likes. I'm not unhappy that our midfield dynamic may change. And change to a slightly more conservative one which should help us in Europe. I'd sell both Matt and Reo as we would face a 10iar slightly different scenario but it's still a season where a couple of players may not be 100% focused. BR will no doubt have a plan and the board will back him. If your asking me if I want 1 more Yr from hatate which could possibly be hampered by a couple of muscle injuries OR the lad Engles just to use a linked name. I'd take the new boy. I'd happily sign McGowan to be another useful option from the bench like bernardo and bring in maybe the US lad or another holder. Put some steel in the middle of the park. Obviously still need the LB and LCB signings but a revamped midfield with BR approval won't be a bad thing to kick off 3 more years of dominance. then eat sleep destroy the h*ns repeat.

No doubt if we don’t get anyone in the usual crap we just couldn’t get these signings over the line.

Hope your right ed . SOS we still need a core of homegrown players for euro squad and I don't care if he came from Spartans he looks a good player . not unlike mginn was at Hibs.

We can always draft in a couple from the B team to meet the homegrown criteria. The liklihood of them making the match day squad is slim anyway. The only issue is I'm not sure if that'll rule them out of playing in the UEFA youth league.

{Ed007's Note - See this homegrown rule, it's not that big a deal, clubs name a 25 man A list and 8 need to be homegrown, if we only have 7 then we only name a 24 man A list squad
