So is media reports are to be believed (I know! ) We bid £4m for Idah around 4 weeks ago and nothing further until now. If that is true it is appalling on many levels. We need a 2nd striker now, £4m is lowball and even if it was our opening bid why have we dragged our heals. It this is the boards method of negotiating and trying to drive the price down its flawed. £6m - ££7m is not a lot for an international player in their early twenties. We paid that for players 20 years ago and paid nearly that for Narowski. Matters not a jot that he was, key word Was, valued at £3m-£4m pre loan. Things change, like form and value. Our Boards views don't however, dark ages!

We previously would make the excuse, that we couldn’t afford the wages and that’s why we don’t pay £6M for a player anymore.

I don’t think the personal details are a problem with Idah but now Celtic are stalling on the transfer fee, when we actually paid more for Edouard several years ago and we weren’t as cash rich back then.

Celtic always want our cake and eat it.
We want big money for our own players but really struggling to meet valuations for non Celtic players.

Obviously it is just my opinion but I don't think he is as good as Edouard and if we paid 8 million, we have over paid.

But how long ago was edouard and bare in mind the spl standard was not as good as current when edouard was here, idah wants the move and contributed toward the opportunity to earn us Champions League money so the fee isn't actually crazy.

I can’t remember the standard of Scottish football being this bad.

You just have to look at our European results this week to see how low the standard has slipped. We have become to some extent in the minor placings similar to the League of Ireland and Wales.

Whether accurate or not, I read that we've offered £6m plus up to an additional £2m in add ons.

The impact Idah made during his loan period cannot be underestimated and for a variety of reasons inc;- his ability, age and the fact he's an international - I'd say that's a good price.

Most importantly, BR has made no secret he wants him and that's good enough for me. Let's get him signed.

I would imagine the add ons would be linked to results in Europe. if he helps us qualify for last 16 it pays for itself.
