Guys yous are much more in the know than I am, let's just say if and when MOR is sold for £25m+, can we actually afford Someone like McTominay for £25m same as MOR. ano he would demand a higher wage but surely that's were our bank money comes into it. Am clutching at straws but am so anxious for big announcements ?♂️.

Celtic have had a particular business model for the last decade and more.
We kind of relaxed that model, when Brendan got the board to part with £9M for Edouard several years ago.
I reckon Idah will be our biggest single outlay in the transfer market this season.
Celtic whilst playing in Scotland wouldn’t pay £25M for one player.
You also mentioned yourself Troy, that the wages on a £25M transfer would be too much.
McTominay on loan would be ideal but unfortunately it won’t happen.

There’s a bit of a myth when it comes to the MON and GS era, MON paid more in direct fees but lower wages - GS paid lower fees for more wages, JVH, the mad man from Madrid, even Wilson was on bigger wages than most of the MON squad. Sutton, Hartson, Thompson, Lennon and Balde all wanted mental wages to stay because of what GS was giving to his signings .

If memory serves, Balde was frozen out because he refused to accept a transfer out to a club offering less than half his salary. This was part of the club costing after the MON spending.
