I appreciate 3 of them were pre-season, but when's the last time Celtic won four on the spin 4-0?
Anyway, great start to the campaign with some excellent football and fine performances all over the pitch. Including Scales who may not be the best footballer out there, or a favourite, but had more touches than most and scored a fine goal from a corner which has been very rare for our team in recent seasons.

Celtic did it recently under Ange in 2023.
Away to St. Johnstone 4-1
Home to St. Mirren Cup 5-1
Home to Aberdeen 4-0
Away to St. Mirren 5-1
That was in the middle of a period of 12 domestic games, when Celtic scored 43 goals from January 18th 2023 to March 18th 2023.
( 8 league, 3 SC and League cup final )
That also included beating Sevco in the LC Final.

I don’t understand the criticism Scales gets regarding his distribution.
Scales is comfortable on the ball for a Centre Back.
The first time I noticed that Scales was actually a good player was away to Feyenoord last season.
He was comfortable that night and I’ve never felt nervous about him in possession since.
My heart was in my mouth watching Starfelt in possession, although his strengths were in different areas.

Onceabhoy, we beat man city 4-3 not 4nil. But take your point about scoring 4 goals in the last 4 games. The way we are playing there will be plenty of goals for us this season.

Buzz I’m in agreement with you on that one. He does sometimes take a touch too many but is good stepping forward. It’s his positioning going up for 50/ 50’s that’s worrying. Far too many times he gets himself drawn in too tight and under the ball. If he can give it a yard of space rather than being over aggressive all the time it will improve his game.

Thought you'd be on the ball Buzz with the previous sequence. Obviously I meant 'scored 4, four games in a row'. (not 4-0) .
I think Scales has risen to the challenge well, considering he has to prove himself week after week and he has overtaken the other candidates currently at the club - OK the standard isn't great, but his team-mates seem to have no problem giving him the ball.

Delighted to see Scales score with avery good Headed goal from corner.

I like scales but he absolutely has at least one heart attack moment in most games. However that's not me caining the guy. he's decent but its a fair point.

I disagree Buzz I think he’s a good passer of the ball but his distribution isn’t great, he’s too slow at passing it for how we want to play and his vision of runs is extremely poor. Against a team that doesn’t counter press he’s comfortable, any decent team that puts pressure on him on a counter press or attacking he finds it hard to deal with. He’s a decent back up and much better than Welsh but we do need an upgrade.

If we're going to progress in Europe we need better at CH than Scales.

Scales is a squad player.3 times he sent a pass to a Kilmarnock player when stepping forward. we get punished big time for that in Europe. Great goal to be fair.

I think I counted 3 passes directly to Kilmarnock players whilst under no pressure.
Definitely a back up player at best.

If Scales has a problem carrying the ball forward, surely BR with coaching can improve that . He made an awful lot of passes yesterday and if just 3 went astray, again BR can coach and improve. He made more correct passes to team-mates than any other player on field .
