Brendan once again has warned the board in public to waken up think the word he used was snooze. bernardo will come in but we need a lot more than that with 4 weeks left.

We do not need a lot more, only a striker is a must have. I’d like a LB and CH but I don’t think it’s critical, I expect one of Kobayashi, Lagerbielke or Nawrocki to step up from last year. Also like the look of the young boy at LB. And if we keep MOR he’s improving almost daily, so we’ll be in better shape than last year. Nothing to worry about!

You a major shareholder gerry? Of course we don't need anything. Without being too pedantic what does anybody really'need'? It's about ambition. Being as good as we possibly can be. I keep seeing the word 'downsize'. The main thing that has been downsized at Celtic over the past decade is ambition. And it's rubbed off on fans.

If I were a major shareholder id probably want MOR sold!

I bet Brendan Rodgers and most of the Celtic support wouldn't agree Gerry.

I just think we are a bit quick to discard players and buy new signings - we have a big squad, surely we have decent enough coaches on staff to get a tune out of the several international defenders we already have?

Would you not rather see someone like Nawrocki come good than spend another £4/ 5/ 6m on someone who may also have a bad first year?

LB is a gamble, but we have Frame/ Anderson hopefully ready to challenge Taylor - we shout about young players not having a pathway, there is a clear pathway here if they are good enough.

Striker is a must, like I say, no two ways about that.

But keeping MOR, if we can, is a masterstroke - and possibly the best piece of business the board will do all year.

Brendan Rodgers has been down this road before with the Celtic Board and public appeals rarely cut any ice with that mob.
We need up to three positions addressed and I hope moves are afoot. However, if the players he wants do not materialize he'll possibly be looking at 'situations vacant' in the pub league again.

Gerry, I agree with you regards our defenders. I saw something in Nawroki and Lagerbielka but BR doesn't apparently rate either above Scales, who for me wears his heart on his sleeve, brave as a lion but a bombscare with the ball at his feet, continually turning into trouble.

Unless they get game time, they will never get a chance to prove themselves and develop.

Particularly Nawroki, I think looked a good prospect.

If they are not in line, best we sell or loan them and get in a quality CB and if that means spending a good bit of money, it's worth it, to give us that stability at the back.

Other than O'Shea and the Wolves left back, I have read nothing about any other defensive players we are interested in.

Hopefully that's a good thing and we will get a nice surprise but I am not holding my breath.

Fair reply gerry. Normally agree with you but I can't grasp people defending the club/ board when there's this little movement.

As for the likes of Nawrocki, I'd love to see them get game time and play well, but the fact they aren't getting picked for whatever reason speaks volumes. it's not as if they're just in the door now.

gerrymurphy,

if you think BR will play Kobayashi or Lagerbielke why did he not do that last season when the CB position was depleted with injuries?

Nawrocki is currently injured and I doubt is the answer either.

BR and AP before him have been looking for someone to challenge Taylor, who now has around 10 months left on his contract but you think Frame or Anderson are ready to step in ?, really?

We've got approx 40 players registered in the first team squad and the majority are junk and should never get near a Celtic jersey.

It's the 01st August and we still haven't signed an outfield player but that's okay because according to you we're sorted.

@gerry - I can understand your line of thinking but if we want to avoid
embarrassment in Europe we need better than Taylor, Scales and Nawrocki.

If the youngsters were ready BR would be playing them, so I don't see that as an option this season but hopefully some will make it soon. It is beat we loan them out for game time.

How many times have the press put names out there who they say we are interested in only for the club to sign someone that the papers have never mentioned until a deal is just about complete. I personally don't think idah will be joining us I really hope he does but I think we need to have other options being looked at .

Taylor is a very decent LB let's get that clear, I slated the lad when he first joined, looked like a light weight child no use, yet totally proved wrong, in the attacking inverted ŵing back roll he had been nothing but an absolute diamond, fair enough not quick enough or physical enough for playing full back, but we generally are too good to need to play full backs! An upgrade on Taylor could well be within the youth system so you can't right that off, we have tried and failed to dethrone him, maybe it will take one of our own and what a delight that would be!

Need a striker asap an injury to kyogo is a worry however I'm sure we have some of the targets nearly on board, hope the scouting team have read these posts the past few weeks could've saved them plenty time and effort with the suggestions I brought forward, all driven by database analysis, the dream job is alive I'm sure ??.
