We need to recognise that " the rangers" have been a basket case since 2011/ 12.

All things considered, we have been badly let down by a risk adverse board who have failed to grasp the opportunity to develop our club.

For the first time in over 30 years I gave up attending home games last season. Poor performances and as I had the misfortune of sitting in front of the board. Just couldn't stomach seeing them.

Here we go again. As we head to a new campaign our squad are worse than last year.

We need a radical makeover in the boardroom. not fit for purpose.

Just as well we are in a "two horse" league, albeit one of them are riding without a jockey!

We got lucky last season. Had they not folded against Dundee and Ross County we would have lost the league . The Scottish Cup final . well apart from the first 15 minutes, we were second best.

Time for change.

Never felt so much apathy for a new season since 1992!

As things stand we have one hod defender starting our first home game. No physical player in midfield. One recognised striker.

Anyway plenty of money in the bank. Just as well we have no opposition in Scotland.

Agree10 Disagree0

Celt65. It almost seems that you take a perverse pleasure in Celtic ‘s shortage of players, or more correctly what u perceive as a shortage . How did we manage to win the double last season and the treble season before with no physical player in midfield.
The good thing about your post is that in your last few words you explain fully. the problems Celtic Board have in recruiting decent players. No player with any ambition will transfer to play for any club without domestic opposition.
Also, as u say Celtic have no opposition in Scotland, they have the whole month of August to sign players for Europe, so why are u moaning.

I simply cannot fathom some fans opinion, ’s and entitlement, we have and are dominating on the pitch, off the pitch, the clubs seen as an example of how to run a club, 99.9% of fans don’t have the 1st clue how or what it takes to run the club, im exhausted with the drivel, talk of protests and downright nonsense what are most likely normal individuals say during a transfer window, opinions are opinions but we support our club no matter what, through and through ……., please folks as most of us all want same thing let these windows pass and let’s see what we have, we need rid of as many we need in, most teams haven’t done there business, the guy where all screaming for idah scored goals that won us league and cup but the same fans where shouting from hilltops our jan business was a disaster, trust manager trust the people who run club and stop forgetting about all the positives in how where run ….

Peter Lawwell must love happy clapper fans like you.

JimtheTim - what a refreshing post obviously I totally agree with your post, I too am becoming bored at the negativity of some on these pages. Let’s wait till end of the window then see where we at also I’d love to see some of these posters do the job of the board, Ed007 has said many times how complex transfers are. Come on Bhoys n Ghirls new season on upon us and I for one am loving life as a Celt just now, even just walking into work and realising the PEEPUL don’t even want to chat about football just now ???.

Players who are ambitious enough to win trophies will come to Celtic but they will probably make more money in a bigger league.

01 Aug 2024 08:40:05
Reports this morning suggest that Idah deal will be done over next couple of days.

God I hope so and we can now really focus on the other positions we need to strengthen, CB and LB.

Facepainter, pedros arguably done best job of any person in his position Europe wide, do I agree with everything absolutely not, do I particularly know or like pedro absolutely not, but I do know there’s people more informed than yourself who don’t put him at the forefront of our current transfer dealings, pretty much like me and every other fan you have no clue what goes on behind the doors at Celtic park, so your silly happy clapper remark reflects more on your uninformed self than it does the fans who look forward to getting back inside parkhead supporting our team over trolling the club.

01 Aug 2024 10:44:05
Paythefacepainter . Michael Nicholson must be very pleased with you . Has he got you on speed dial , he is responsible for carrying out almost all the negotiation if not it all regarding players movement and u let him off Scot free.

Are u not embarrasssed, paythefacepainter, showing up your negative mates with a historic opinion of who does what for Celtic.

01 Aug 2024 10:36:39
wee des and jim the tim, well said, you would think the torn faced moan a lots get some weird pleasure by slagging the board.

01 Aug 2024 11:28:14
I am not sure players who are ambitious enough to win trophies will come to Celtic, as we have had such almost total success recently, it is seen by outsiders as the expected achievement. 11/ 12 SPL and 5 trebles show a club with outstanding achievements and. A non Scottish Celtic player considering joining is going to find it difficult to sell to his fellow professionals from what ever Country he is playing in the success of winning SpL . U yourself regard our European performances as embarrassing, so we are unlikely to have CL success . We even advise players to go to other leagues as Celtic are said to have a moral duty not to hold our players back financially, so naturally we shouldn’t be preventing people from earning top dollar.

01 Aug 2024 11:59:17
Whichever side of the fence you sit on regarding the board, there is obviously a divide between the fans and them . We are in a privileged position with the success we have had recently, but if you scratch the surface we have also had quite a few opportunities to put rangers away domestically and making a bit of progress in Europe . For a club to have 100 milllion in the bank and won the silverware we have and so many fans to be disillusioned with the board there is definitely an under current with the fans. The banning of the green brigade, banning political statements unless they want to use them all winds up the majority of the fans. The sleeping at the wheel season when we were after 10.On top of that a manager that was displeased to say the least with last years transfer windows. The fascination with always breaking even on transfers whilst growing money, even this season most believe the transfers will be funded by Mor being sold . Like I said earlier depending which side of the fence you are will counter each argument. Personally speaking this season more than any other recently we, I believe should be pushing the boat out a bit more, I feel 4/ 5 players will improve us massively, and a chance of progressing in Europe rather than embarrassing ourselves. ( plus keeping mor) . I’m quite confident that we won’t spend circa 20 million after sales this season, which to improve we probably need to do. We can’t keep selling our best assets and hope to improve.

Your not sure a player would be ambitious enough to come to Celtic to win trophies, makes absolutely no sense.

Celtic have won 12 of the last 13 titles and we have won the most trophies in the whole of Europe this millennium.
( 3 more than 2nd place Bayern Munich )

If a player is desperate for success then Celtic should be top of his list.

Maybe Harry Kane will play for nothing ?

I think you would agree that not winning a knockout match after the groups stages in 20 years is embarrassing for a club the size of Celtic. ?‍♂️

I also added in that 20 years,
Celtic have Qualified for the CL last 16 on 3 occasions.
It’s the most by any club that come from a Country with a population of less than £10M.
So not all doom and gloom.

I did say Celtic shouldn’t hold MOR back BUT only if he wanted to leave.
There’s no point having an unhappy player who wants to at least triple his wages elsewhere.
But thankfully Matt is interested in more success than he is money, which is rare these days.

It’s been pointed out that Matt is now a big earner at Celtic, which I believe is important that he feels self worth because he deserves it.

As much as I'm fed up reading the whinging on here, every poster is "entitled" to an opinion whether people agree with it or not. Although some posters like to go against the grain for the sake of it. People are quick to stick it to the entire board like they're all culpable for the slow business being done. It doesn't even work like that at least get the right people to vent your anger towards. With that being said we all have reason to be frustrated with the window, sick of the "entitled" and "panty wetter" posters Brendan himself is carefully choosing his words about our transfer business this window saying we can't snooze. He must be entitled like the rest of us then.

Good reply Ange.

Top post Quinn.

The whole. board are responsible and let's not leave out the main culprit, Desmond. ?

While it is Nicholson and McKay who are responsible for the transfer dealings. The rest of the board are involved in setting budgets and wage structure, so they are getting it as well. Obviously all of them are just doing what Desmond tells them and they are a buffer between him and the fans. ?.
