The Celtic blogger James Forrest has laid the Idah situjation squarely on our Board.
Norwich have told Celtic their price and as usual we are lowballing.
The player has been unsettled as well now, so come on Celtic pay the money and get the boy in a Celtic shirt.

not lowballing tim just offering what a second choice striker in the spfl is worth, lots on here just want to pay over the odds just to do a deal,

I can see it from both points of view. However, let me point out that just before we signed Adam Idah, they had been prepared to loan him to an Italian team, with an option to buy for around 5 million euros (My figures may be slightly out as I am doing this from memory) .
From our point of view we will want him for as cheap as possible and will have a lower valuation than Norwich.
On the other hand Norwich will want as much as possible and will have a higher value.
Personally speaking I think we will get him if we increase our offer slightly or possibly restructure the payment to favour Norwich.

The player will establish himself and improve under BR and Celtic and the Board should realize they will get a future healthy profit.

Hi all hope you are well
Point of order there on the idah deal with Verona in December last year.
That move fell through as Verona wanted the obligation to buy fee, but Norwich said no. They just wanted a loan.
We were able to agree the loan if we didn't insist on the option to buy, which the board agreed to get him in as Brendan wanted him.
Norwich aren't stupid and knew that idah would be in demand. So they left out the clause/ obligation to buy.
Let's not rewrite history here to suit a particular anti-everything negative narrative.

It’s a long time since James Forrest (self appointed expert ) hasn’t placed blame entirely on Board . James has no problem doing so even without many of the facts.

Des I agree, we didn't ask Adam not to turn up on time for a flight.
Forrests argument is that we told Adam we wanted him, put in a lowball offer and walked away.
Firstly, that's his opinion that it was a lowball offer, nothing more than that, he has never provided any evidence to justify a higher fee.
Adam is a 2nd or 3rd choice striker in his current team, he's not a pub league striker. Yes he can and will improve, but he is not an 8-10 million pound player yet.
I think we could go up to around 6 million which is realistic but for some to suggest we just get on with it and pay 10 million, need to seriously rethink that strategy. Pay 10 and they will want a sell on percentage aswell, which could make him a non profit piece of business for us.
To also suggest we just walked away, how does he know that, just because the club haven't came out and said anything doesn't mean dialogue is finished.
He also says we told Adam we wanted him, who did, if anyone it would have been BR but that doesn't man we will open our wallets and let them take what they want. Adam will know there was never any guarantee.
Adam will be guided by his agent, not by Celtic Football Club we cannot be responsible for the actions of all players we show an interest in.
You, me ad James Foest have no idea what is or has gone on in the background which has resulted in Adam doing what he did, but its a good tag line when you need readers, to mention our club are to blame.

Biscuit tin board . Norwich haven't tried to force us to buy Idah we approached them then started haggling like cheap whores . they know the price pay it or move on .
