Kasper is a great signing.

Can’t remember the fee for barkas but that was supposed to be building for the future.

The guy has experience as a top international keeper.

Do people on here really think if we signed a goalkeeper who performed for the next two years he wouldn’t attract interest the way Matt has and wouldn’t be off.

I played football at a decent level as a goalkeeper and I think kasper could play for most top sides in Europe.

His distribution is also very good I’m buzzing too see him in a Celtic jersey and I look quite like him so hopefully a few birds in the town think I’m him in the next few months ??.

Was barkas not 5m.

I haven't seen much of him lately but he was actually very good the season Leicester went down from the Premier League, as daft as that might sound. Had some good moments in the Euros too, so to be at that level suggests he's still got it. Plenty of experience, I can imagine him being a good character, I'm going good signing with this one.

Nothing against Kasper Schmeichel he was a top class keeper at his best and could just be the experience we need in the Champions League.

But we’ve known we needed a goalkeeper for 6 months we’ve the thick end of £100m at our disposal and we’ve signed a 37 year old free agent as a stop gap.

Doesn’t fill me with confidence about supposedly building for the future under Rodgers or what to expect in terms of outfield signings. Has the shambles that is The Rangers set the bar for the Celtic board?

In saying that my expectations from a board with 20 years of form are low in terms of recruitment. A board which for me are at the limit of their individual and collective capabilities headed by a lawyer as CEO who had been at the club for 10 years before Dom McKay was appointed but wasn’t considered to be the man for the job. A board unable to realise Celtic’s potential as a football club.

No recruitment team in the building. A manager whose strength is as a coach not spotting talent and who previously shopped in Harrods but now finds himself in Aldis. We can’t even get the two guys who were here on loan last season over the line.

Hope is a virtue and I was maintaining a respectful silence having resigned myself to the board’s incompetence when last summers transfer window closed.

But why would we expect the board to act differently this season than the previous 20. Answers on a postcard.

Very happy with KS. seems to be a real personality in the dressing room and a good leader. hopefully he can recommend some up and coming LB and CH from Denmark.

When JH signed many weren't happy but he done well and won them over. CS brings a wealth of experience. He was the Danish captain at the Euros Won the pub league FA Cup and BR knows him well enough from there time together.

If we are bringing Kasper in at least give this kid Oluwayemi a crack at being no2 so he can learn from him and pass on his experience.

I’m wholly behind your post. I’m not one who feels you can’t make constructive criticism and not “qualify” to being a Celtic supporter.

I appreciate signings are not easy. There are lots of issues and we do need to accept the Euros are an added complication. Who knows we may have 2 or 3 quality signings on their way?. However, our recruitment team struggle every year. Why is this?

I have my own views…. The bottom line is I don’t feel it’s good enough.

I can't disagree JFP with much of your post. Everyone had plenty of notice that Joe was leaving the club and therefore I would gave expected aist of replacements to have been considered from that moment.

The lack of a D. O. F. still at CP defies bothogic and belief. In BR we've got a very capable and successful manager who's delivered more success than any Celtic manager since Stein but he needs to be supported when it comes to the recruitment of players.

On a positive note, Kasper Schmeichel, whilst no spring chicken, is a very good goalkeeper who's just come back from captaining his country in the Euro's.

I also don't buy the 'he needs to win over the fan's' - that's total BS, this guy has already been over the course and distance.

On a side note, is it possible that with KS and his Dad's knowledge and connections we might possibly have some assistance in finding Kaspers eventual replacement?

And how di we know that as soon as Joe said he was done, BR didn't go straight the board and tell then that KS contract expires in the summer, he's his countries no1, going to the euros, ticks every box that needs ticking to be a celtib goalie, he's the guy I want? Why are we assuming he wasn't first choice? Because he's free? There's plenty of goalies playing until into their 40s at good levels.
