Kyogo struggled to get into the game yesterday and I believe many Celtic fans would rather start with Giakoumakis, against Ross County next week.
I keep thinking about how Kyogo ran the County defenders ragged up in Dingwall, during our crucial 2-0 victory back in April.
I would start with Kyogo and then play Giakoumakis for the last 30 minutes.

I hope you enjoyed your holiday.

It’s too early to draw any conclusions from yesterday it was the first game of the season and a few of the team looked off the pace including Kyogo.

I said last season when Kyogo was coming back from injury and I think he’s a fantastic player that I’d have started with Giakomakis which earned me a few objectors that’s how good I think he is and I would start with him next week.

I’ll bang the old drum again though although I know it’s not happening but I’d love to see Ange finding a way to play both of them together up front which me and my laddie were discussing again at the game.

Ice Man what’s your thoughts?

PS: Celtic need to seriously address the pies they are rank rotten.

PS2: On the full house and season ticket debate there appeared to be more bodies than seats at my end?

PS3: If it wasn’t for the two re-signings who mean we have only stood still according to the press yesterday was a draw. Stunner of a goal from Jota and fantastic tackle from CCV.

First game of the season as it was, there were several players who you could say 'hit the ground running', with superb performances, from defense and midfield, with Jota looking the sharpest forward. Kyogo and GG both need a run of games to get up to speed and boost confidence as they both missed chances they took in their stride last season when they were at their best. I doubt we will see both of them at the same time due to the formation and system we play, but there may be occasions when we need to switch things up? Anyway, it seems Kyogo is Ange's first choice with GG coming on for the last 30 and when I saw the strength in depth we had on the bench yesterday, there will be chances for most players to get a run at some point.

JFP1888 I’ve never had a pie at Celtic Park but it can’t be any worse than the pie I had at Pittodrie last week when I went with my son in law it was absolutely tasteless. I don’t know how much a pie costs at Celtic Park, for a pie and cup of tea up there it was £7.

There’s definitely an argument to be made for dropping the wee man and vice versa depending on the opposition, although that doesn’t give any one of them a good run in team which they need. A decent problem to have I suppose.

JFP there are many supporters that would like to see both Kyogo and Giakoumakis in the same team whether that be up front as a two or with Kyogo playing as number 10

For me it’s one or the other. Like you said Ange is not going to deviate away from his preferred 4-3-3 formation which means only one will play as the whole Kyogo on the wing experiment failed dramatically as Ange himself admitted

We have two fantastic yet very different strikers on our hands in Kyogo and GG. Kyogo thrives on running in behind which could prove difficult at Parkhead given most teams sit so deep against us. Away from home and Europe could be where Kyogo gets his success as teams are a bit more adventurous against us. GG prefers the physical battle with defenders and has terrific movement in the box.

I think Ange will go with Kyogo most of the time if I’m honest as I think Ange sees him as our number one striker. I myself would lean towards GG at this moment in time but it’s a great problem for Ange to have

On a complete separate debate I believe we are a much bigger threat with Jota on the left and Abada on the right. No harm to Maeda but this is my opinion.

I also thought that we would have been better starting with Giorgious yesterday given how physical Aberdeen were.

On that note, how did that clown get away without a booking for kneeing Hatate in the back - that was awful and IMO done on purpose.

Ange has a great 'problem' on his hands with Kyogo and Giorgious, two different skill sets but both very capable of producing plenty of goals.

As we discussed on the Podcast last evening, I, like a few of the other bhoys, think that Giorgious is the best out and out striker/ poacher and the 'No.10' role is taylor made for Kyogo - imagine a formation with both playing at the same time ?

Old Killy

2 pies a fanta and a coffee £12.29 at Parkhead.

I remember throwing a pie at Mo Johnston and regretting it a wee bit because I was starving.

But there would have been no regrets yesterday.

Did they no say tae ye in Aberdeen ‘You’ll have had yir tea? ’.

I’ve never understood this ‘standing still’ c*** that the press and the ‘other’ teams supporters keep coming out with re Celtic.
Ange has only had one season with Celtic and he and the board and the recruitment team have transformed the team. Four talented Japanese gentlemen, GG, Wee Orally, JJ, Hart, Jota, CCV, Abada etc, and that’s before you start considering Bennie, Mooy, Jenz and Seigherst. Celtic are getting stronger and stronger by the day. Shoddy poor reporting and a negativity that smacks of undermining journalism and ‘sit on the fence’ punditry, just to give the other supporters of Scottish teams a lifebelt to hang on to.
Celtic, under Ange, are going to be something special this year, and I look forward that penny dropping with the Sportscene pundits (with the exception of Stewart as he is already there) .

Nice to ‘speak’ to you I’ve enjoyed your posts.

We take football to a different level in Scotland but we’re apparently standing still according to the Scottish media.

Recruitment has been not just excellent but exceptional.

Ange will do his talking on the park.

My only concern is an enforcer in the middle of the park Ange doesn’t think we need. But he’s the boss no me. In saying that I thought Mooy showed more in 15 minutes I’m sad to say than McCarthy showed I’m 15 months.

Thanks JFP,
It was a lazy, tea total fortnight.
Celtic struggled in all of our fixtures last season against Aberdeen and we only won each game by the odd goal.
Yesterday Celtic dominated and we looked more comfortable against Aberdeen.

I think the way we played against the dons didn't suit Kyogo, the incredible voleyed pass by O'Riley was the kind of ball he likes, right in behind the defence. We didn't do that a lot. Abada and Ralston are good for him as they hit the byline and hit it into the spaces he likes to run into. He'll get sharper and till score a lot of goals this season i think. GG would have scored a few if had been on from the start, as he would have been right in their faces. First time in many years we have looked comfortable against them. GG may need to play next week as it will be physical up there.

Who gives a single F what the Sevconian press say? They try to undermine us, that only works if you let it. Every utterance from those p ricks shows how worried they are. Focus on that worry and laugh your arse off. They know we are so much better. They played like a junior team on Saturday. High balls into the box vmbecsusecthey had F all skill to get through them. Overhyped utter p ish. That’s what they are.
