So with Jullien out do they then have a space for youth or have they got someone to come in?

Always liked the look of young Murray.

Need someone else in to challenge ccv and vickers. Welsh needs to improve a lot if he's ever to be a first choice and young murray would benefit from a loan move.

Think Murray is out injured until at least the winter.

I think Welsh gets too much flack from our own fans. He's hardly put a foot wrong and been very consistent when called upon.

People can't complain that there's not a route to the first team for the academy players and then complain that they're not good enough when they get game time, it's one or the other. These players need time to settle in and gain experience.

{Ed007's Note - I totally agree 100% ???

I’ve always thought Welsh was going to be a class player for us. There’s a reason there’s interest in him from Italy.

I think given time, he'll be an outstanding player for the club. He was captain of the Scotland U21 team until this summer.

I think it was Buzz who said that his passing accuracy didn't dip below 90% in any game he played last season as well so I'm not really sure what the issue is with the boy.

Academy players get absolutely slated when they leave without getting a run in the first team, "chasing the money" etc but honestly can you blame some of them when they see how much scrutiny they are under?

Playing in the first team from the U21 side isn't the same kind of jump as U18 to U21 for example. Its like m3 playing Sunday league and then being thrown into a champions league tie. We need to ease up and give them the chance to prove themselves.

I agree Stephen Welsh will continue to improve.
His stats are always good with successful pass rates and winning challenges Etc.

Bosun Lawal is going to be pushed this year I reckon. In more premiership winning celebration photos than Chris Juilen.

Last seasons Europa league we picked up 6/ 9 pts from the 3 games Welsh started and only picked up 3/ 9 pts without him starting

The 9 games he started in the league we won 6 drew 1 and lost 2, 19/ 27 pts

The lad will only get better and better, I can see a player in him, he needs a chance and I think Ange is the right man to guide him. I can see him taking Starfelts position moving forward and it's great competition to have.

I can't knock Starfelt in terms of our results from last season, our win percentage with him in the team in the domestic campaign was tremendous, but he has a gasping moment in most matches and we were lucky teams never capitalised fully.
Hopefully the errors are irradicated from his game for the new campaign.

I'd also like to see Bosun Lawal get some pre season action see if he can cut it, there has to be a route for the youngsters we develop through our youth system, or get them out on loan in the SPL to challenge themselves and get ready to challenge for a place in Anges title winning team!
