Ed - or anyone - Buzz Bomb has been saying for ages that The Rangers now work for us. As far a co efficients are concerned then he has hit the nail on the head.
What about financially though? Have The Rangers managed to help fill the coffers of Celtic this season by default?
I read that when the magnificent Celtic managed to get to the last 16 of the CL on a couple of occasions that it benefited the rest of the league. As a result of our dynamic runs UEFA had in place a system of "trickle-down-money". Depending on how far each team got in the CL there was a calculation where that clubs parent association was "gifted" a set amount of money to be distributed amongst the teams in that clubs association. Has The Rangers run to the Europa final resulted in UEFA dispensing money in the same manner? It would be hilarious if their failure resulted in our gain!

@Stubbsiehorse I think our Buzz is on Holiday, so is not around and I think ED037 covered this in a post yesterday.
From what I can gather Sevco run to final ONLY netted them £8m more than our European run, although some gate money to be added to theirs I think including share of final money.
With Celtic qualifying for group stages the other SPFL teams NOT involved in european games get a cash amount which UEFA give to SFA to hand out.
Celtic's 10 year coefficient is better than Sevco and that was what was used to calculate UEFA bonuses. Bad news is from next season Sevco have a much better 5 year coefficient than Celtic, so we really need to win some games in europe pronto.

So what you are saying is, because we competed in Europe then we don't get any extra from UEFA. But those that didn't get to share in a wee dividend.

Stubbsie be fair to UEFA mate.
Because we are in group stages Celtic are GUARANTEED a certain amount of cash, which is not to be sniffed at, we will also earn more in bonuses for every point we gain in group and more bonuses if we make it out our group. This is not even counting our home gate monies or sponsorship bonuses.
If UEFA gave us share of money given to other Scottish clubs Celtic would in effect getting DOUBLE bonus.
