Thirst quencher news

With all the hullabaloo about the sevvies in Seville being denied water, your intrepid Tim reporter did some in depth (pun intended lol) investigating, well I asked a German pal of the ghirls, who phoned relatives in Germany.
This is what he was told, apparently the Eintracht fans were also warned not to bring in bottles or any other heavy containers, so in the Seville bars they kept their plastic pint tumblers or bought plastic juice containers with lids from the takeaways and filled them up with water, they also brought plastic water bottles but drank them BEFORE entering stadium so were hydrated at start, the Spanish police allowed the plastic cups to be taken in with water or juice and actively encouraged the German fans to top up at the water taps.
So my question is how come the sevvies were too DUMB to do same thing?

Tim
My closest mate was there with his daughter and said it was horrendous.
They were advised to buy bottled water and a battery pack before entering the stadium but after going through the 1st check point the police were confiscating everything they had, they were left with there wallet, purse and there phones.
They had also been told to get to the stadium as early as possible due to different security points so were there about 2 hours before kickoff which was 9pm local time and it was still something like 37 degrees.
It doesn't matter how hydrated you think you are, if you are standing for 2hrs before kickoff in a concrete bowl with nothing to drink its not the supporters fault.
Oh as for the water taps, the officials turned off the water to the whole stadium just after kick off after closing the kiosk selling small bottles of water before kickoff.
And before anyone blames any fans I read reports and heard from people who said the exact same thing happened when we played there in '03.
That stadium isn't fit to host a European final of any sort.

Didn't think we played in that stadium.

Interesting Jonbhoy.

Its been suggested it was some sort of conspiracy to keep the Sevvies quiet and give Franfurt an edge - I'm not sure about that, but what I would say is access to the basics I e. water, in such heat should be a given.

BTW, we didn't play at the same stadium in 2003.
