Just read on BBC sports website

"Manchester United, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Celtic, Ajax and PSV have all won the treble of European Cup, league title and domestic cup.
But Liverpool- who have already won the Carabao Cup - are still in the running for an unprecedented quadruple"

Initially was pleased that we were mentioned alongside some really fantastic european clubs as one of only six teams but when I read unprecedented quadruple I just thought what shoddy journalism and it is no wonder the author hasn't put his name to the article.

Does he even realise what the Lions won in 67? Does he realize that most European countries cannot do this "unprecedented quadruple" as they do not have league Cup competitions?

I thought it was great to be one of the six teams aforementioned but it's even better when you realise (as I always knew) that we are unique, a stand alone club, as we have already achieved the unachievable, unprecedented etc 55 years ago and also added the glasgow Cup for good measure.

And here's hoping that this Sundays Glasgow Derby will all but hand us another trophy. Rant over HH.

I was out for dinner with my Liverpool supporting nephews after our Semi Final defeat a couple of weeks ago and they were bragging, that Liverpool were going to be the first club to win the Quadruple.
Their faces were a picture when I told them Celtic had already achieved the Quadruple.

They also needed a corrupt FA and lots of honest mistakes from referees who just so happen to support Old Firm FC.

Imagine how much we would have won if it was a level playing field.

I fondly remember the year we won 'every competition we entered' and used to have a team photo with the five trophies along the front. British media were even reluctant to cover our historic European Cup win, never mind a complete domestic clean-sweep. We also won the 'Quizball' trophy on the BBC that year with Big Billy, Jim Craig, John Cairney (as a celebrity fan member) and Wispy Wallace, who's specialist subject seemed to be 'the gee-gees' ha ha. What a team!

{Ed007's Note - We also won the BBC Sports Team of the Year award in '67 as well, OAB.}

Oh yes, we sure did Ed. It was a travesty big Jock never got knighted considering all the other football 'Sirs' that have been dubbed. Although 'immortality' is some consolation.

{Ed007's Note - I'm glad Stein never got a knighthood, $hite like that is something we shouldn't actively look to get involved in.}
