Ange said Scales hasn't been making the bench due to squad balance.
Last week showed that's an error of judgement because Scales can play both Centre back and left back.
Ange doesn't need both McCarthy and Ideguchi on the same bench.
That was highlighted last week when Celtic were struggling in the midfield area and neither player was brought on over 120 minutes.

Wasn't Ideguchi playing left back in JP before we picked him up? I was a little surprised he wasn't thrust in there in the sevco game but, having hardly featured, I can see how it may have backfired.

It’s Hatate that played left back for his old club although he’s right footed.
I think if it was earlier in the game, it would’ve been an option and Ideguchi could’ve took his place in midfield and pushed Calmac further forward.
But I don’t think I would’ve put Hatate at left back for extra time.

Buzz when I read it I thought that’s a lie. We have had plenty of matches with 3/ 4 defensive midfielders on our bench. That is the opposite of balance on the bench. Maybe he’s just trying not to hang scales out to dry.

It’s a strange one SoS.
We all know that Sevco are dangerous at set pieces and Scales has plenty of height which our team is lacking.
At Ibrox when Celtic were leading, we had the extra height of Bitton to help out.
Bitton is also cover for our Centre Backs but with him being missing, Scales should’ve been an option.

Spot on Buzz, I was also a little surprised at Scales not being included.
McCarthy has been watching a lot of football from his place on the bench this season and 'Gucci' hasn't had a look in ?
