One for Buzz, what is the standard width of Hampden? and who determines its width for semi and finals? . It looked very narrow today. Thanks in advance mate.

Sorry Rob, I don’t know.
I know Kilmarnock were allowed to narrow the pitch, half way through a season when they played Celtic.

Looking at the SPFL rules. The rules state that a club must submit their pitch dimensions before start of the season. After they submit the dimensions they are not allowed to change them.

However, it does state that if they get written consent from the SPFL board they can change them but it does not state what is the criteria to do this.

Was reading the FA cup rules but it did not specify the pitch regulations for Hampden but for home games before semi finals, they are the same as the SPFL rules. Therefore, I would assume this is same case for Hampden.

I also found out that the dimensions of Hampden are 105m X 68m.

There is a minimum and maximum width and length for a football park clubs can make their park whatever they like sighing These limits and submit at the start of the season. If they wish to change this throughout the season they must inform the governing body.

I do remember before a European Cup game, after the opposition club had trained at Parkhead the day before the game and, the next day, Big Jock had the dimensions changed to suit Celtic's game plan.
