I can't claim to know much about Doak other than what I've read. What I don't get though is if he is such a Celtic fan why he would leave at this stage of his career. Yes money talks but surely try and live the dream a bit? Some titles, cup wins, goals, winding up Sevco etc. It's what we all dream about surely? No ill will to the bhoy but seems to me a short sighted decision.

Every true Celtic fan dreams of playing for our club and become a first team player and experience title wins matches against the sevies and champions league nights and playing at a packed out Celtic park something most of us can only dream of and he has the chance to do it yet walking away from it his so called love for our club must be pish. No Chance would I ever walk away from that no matter what contract any club put in front of me you can become wealthy and set for
Life at celtic to. All this pish as well playing for bigger clubs than us. I don't support any other club I support Celtic. Least with kt he lived the dream then took his move.

I don't have any animosity towards him and it is hard to judge his decision without knowing all the facts.

I wish him good luck at Liverpool and who knows, he may end up back at Celtic one day.

Well said U. I.

Apparently 15 grand to do the ame youth team job he's doing here? . no brainer for the boy.

20 Mar 2022 10:25:39
Deep river boy then he loves money not celtic. As I says you can become wealthy and set for life at celtic. He was obviously going to become a first team player at the club he supports but turned his Back on that for 15 grand a week. By you saying its a no brainer sounds
Like you would walk away from the dream for 15 g a week.

Feck him if he doesn't want to be here, if money is his motivation not pulling on the Celtic top we have probably dodged a bullet.

There are dreams and ambitions but there is also opportunities to reach the pinnacle of your sport. You can dream about being a legend for celtic, but when the games elite call, and Liverpool are the best team in the world right now, you can't turn it down. Liam Miller- god rest his soul- got the chance to go to MUTD when they were the top club in the world. The chance to play and train with the the greatest players In the world rather than go to Livi twice a season is a toughie.

There is more to this than money.

I think he has also been seduced by the calibre of player he will now be rubbing shoulders with. A team that genuinely has a chance of winning the league title there and the CL to boot. But therein lies part of the problem for him - how on earth does he see himself breaking into that team? He must have some confidence in himself.

Would he have went to Burnley just to be in their youth set up for £15k a week? I'm not sure, but he will be out on loan playing against them in the Championship next season or so. If he thinks that is better than playing for Celtic then good luck to him on that score.

I don't know their team that well but when was the last youth player to break into their team in his position from their youth set up? From what I can see Liverpool (like many EPL teams) tend to pay 10's of millions to other teams to play for them - Doak, could one of those teams have been Celtic? I guess Tierney, Nicholas, Viduka, VVD, Wanyama etc etc might be able to point you in the right direction son. If he is as good as he thinks he is then making his bones at Celtic for a couple of seasons would have catapulted him into his "dream move" straight into their FIRST TEAM totally bypassing the youth set up. Short sighted in the least IMHO.

The bottom line is, for whatever reason, he doesn't want to be part of the Celtic set up so for that reason he can just bolt.

Good riddance we are bigger than him. He will end up another feruz.

@smkmeakipper. By your post you seem to think playing for Liverpool is better than playimg for celtic and its a choice you would make. Let me tell you something I'm from a wee place In Glasgow called the garngad massive Celtic area and peoples love of following our great club is a way of life its ingrained in you from birth were im from and to want to play for some other club over Celtic is unherd of. Celtic are a massive club and only club I would ever dream of playing for.
