Posted earlier condolences for Wim but then had a think back and theirs some similarities and coincidences with Ange and Wim.
Both men managed in Japan before coming to Celtic.
Both were out off the ordinary appointments, having no previous affiliations to Celtic.
Both came in during failed 10 IAR attempts.
Both were very unfairly ridiculed by the Scottish press.
Both men lost iconic long term captains in Paul McStay and Scot Brown prior to taking over.
Both had a massive rebuild of the squad and the loss of key players:
Cadette, Van H and Dicanio/
Eddy, Ajer and Christie.
Both men took over after two legendary ex Celtic players who managed the club Neil and Tommy, both red heads.
Both had a very bad start to their league campaigns:
Wim lost his first two games.
Ange lost 3 of his first 5 league games.
Both men brought in brilliant strikers in Henrik and Kyogo that no one in Scotland had really heard off.
Both won the first available domestic trophy, Scottish league cup.
Both men then steadied the ship. Wim then won the new year game against league leaders (Rangers) at Celtic Park and he went went on to win the league!
Here's hoping Ange continues these coincidences and wins the delayed new year game against the current League leaders at Celtic Park. the rest I hope is history repeated but with Ange sticking around.
