As a young lad I always loved the 6 million dollar man and wished to be just like him - unfortunately I have only managed to become the 240 lbs man. This sorry state of affairs has encouraged me to set a New Years resolution of getting under 200lbs. To wit I need to make a motivational "mixed tape".

First on the list will always be ELO's All Over The World. Why? Well not to brag (I think I'm about to anyway) I have done a wee bit of travelling in my time and no matter where I have been, whether from Nova Scotia to Cape Town, Tierra Del Fuego to Kathmandu or Salar De Uyuni and right across the "TRANSIB", all I had to do to break the ice was say I was a Celtic fan. I'm sure we all know how loved and respected we are as a club but it is not until you meet some guy in the ar*e end of the world who knows "Big Billy" that you truly appreciate our global reach and appeal. It's times like that, when a stranger wants to slap your back, buy you a pint and talk football for eons that you know you are following the greatest club out there. Hail Hail troopers.

Right that's the spiel - now the bill!

So far I haven't run a yard as I'm still trying to get motivation for this Mixed Tape! It would be fantastic if you guys could recommend some bangers that might banish my slothful attitude!

So far I have 5 songs -

ELO - All Over The World
Sniff N The Tears - Drivers Seat
The Waterboys - Fisherman's Blues
Mungo Jerry - Motor Bikin'
Crazy Town - Butterfly

If anyone can say they know them all I'll put a wee bawbee in Ed's next Xmas charity do.

I considered Demi Lovato's Heart Attack but didn't want to tempt fate!

In hopeful anticipation - "fatty"

Haha - thanks Ed - that is a banger for sure.

However, I just want to go for a run - NOT invade Poland!

{Ed007's Note - Pussy :-)

Stubbsie, fair play to you bit before I offer a tune or two that may be deemed appropriate for the task in hand, may I suggest if you're going to run, avoid the streets and either look at trail running or treadmills (if possible) as it will save your knee's from taking a pounding.

Some tracks to consider:-

* Survivor - Eye of the tiger
* AC/ DC - Thunderstruck
* Dire Straits - Money for nothing
* Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street
* Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills (no pun intended)

BTW, ELO were superb ?.

{Ed007's Note - That Baker Street is one of the worst and most annoying songs, ever - I've never seen the appeal of but maybe that's an age thing, Peter... And I prefer Romeo and Juliet and Brothers in Arms from Dire Straits.}

Age thing ? ? ?, cheeky bassa. Anyway, he's going for a run Ed, not a sleep ? I do like both of those tracks by Dire Straits. The guitar work in B. I. A is haunting.

{Ed007's Note - I bought a guitar and amp a couple of years back and thought I could at least learn a few songs to impress my wee niece - she was 21 yesterday! - but it was pathetic, my hands are too big and the only thing I learnt was Wild Thing by The Troggs and Yoda jumped about mental to it. The guitar and amp are for sale on Gumtree... And don't watch Major League at 4 in the morning with a dog that loves The Troggs.}

yeah I bought a guitar before lockdown kicked in, so 2yrs ago now, part of my midife crisis. Mark Knopfler has nothing to worry about, it's still in the wrapper ? ? ?.

Men with guitars - I fricken hate em - lost a cracking burd to some freak fingered fret fiddler. He wasn't even very good but the wimmin fall for it every time. Since I had about as much musical talent as a p. ed dog howling I over compensated and got a motorbike (hence the Mungo Jerry song - all the songs have meaning) - it was the only ride I got for ages - wimmin like strings, not chains apparently!

Thanks for the song list Pedro - some classics in there. I knew someone would pick Thunderstruck and Eye of the Tiger. The Iron Maiden is probably the pick of the bunch.

Ed that Yoda comment made me laugh - I had a dog (Jock) that used to sh*t itself and run out the room howling whenever it heard the theremin in Doctor Who!

Anyone else out there got any toons?

{Ed007's Note - ??

Nice one Stubbsie, glad you liked them.

I'm a big AC/ DC fan and could have suggested many other upbeat tunes.

As for Maiden, Run to the Hills was the first 'single' (anybody remember singles? ) that I bought, as well as the first band I ever saw live, Glasgow Apollo, September 1984 - brilliant.

Keep on running Spencer Davis had a rottweiler used to howl and put its paws over its ears I kid you not good luck stubble ( never had a pro lem with my weight ha e to run up and down in the shower to get wet) HH.

Thanks guys - some good options there.

Pump It Up - takes me back - not heard that for ages.

Love "The Boss" - not sure anyone doesn't - I think his best song is Brilliant Disguise but that is easily argued with.

keep On Running is quite apt Jic' but I'd probably be more worried about my heart keeping on pumping! My mum loves Spencer Davis and the likes as all that was kicking around when she was a lass. (Troggs tae Ed) . Wouldn't say I had a problem with my weight. I like to think my physique as like one of those blow up dolls they keep trying to flog on the live chat - a bit up and down!

Good to hear of more if you have them lads.
