Celtic sign players regardless of colour creed nationality unlike a certain club, how you can spin a negative after signing 3 good players is beyond me, a usually don't mind him but this is nonsense.
{Ed007's Note - Michael Stewart said nothing remotely racist from what I've seen, he's talking about keeping our identity as a Scottish/British Club and having players around the team that "get" Celtic and the Scottish/British game, your McGregors, Ralstons etc, buying the best young talent in the league or we can afford from England while producing our own youngsters. And not filling the majority our team with foreign players that see us only as a potential stepping stone to the Pub League after 2 years
Plus he says it's good for the national team which even though I couldn't give a stuff about it is still a valid point for a guy in the media to make.}

Agree ed nothing racist was portrayed as a negative, celtic have supported the national team more than any team in decades and we've got a strong core at the minute, every club signed foreign players sevco have more than most just not Japanese.

I have no issue with foreign players.
The days of European success with a team full of players within a 40 mile radius are gone.
If the four Japanese lads help us win the league I’ll be as delighted.
But I agree with Michael Stewart and think it’s a fair point that it’s preferable to have a quorum of Scottish players to maintain our identity.
We knew Burns, Grant, McStay and Boyd et al felt our pain.
The disconnect at the club with the fan base is bad enough when we have a board that don’t ‘get’ what Celtic are about.

I agree ED. I am as excited as anyone, and looking forward to seeing the four samurai playing for Celtic. But I also know they will come and go just like the Dembele’s, Edouards Forsters etc. Scottish Football, as it has developed over the past 10 to 15 years is only seen as a stepping stone to somewhere else by a lot of players and managers. That’s unfortunately the reality and it doesn’t help Scottish Football as a whole. That’s all Stewart was saying.

Not sure I pay much attention to what any 'pundit' actually says or writes as ultimately their comments are made to ensure they continue earning a living.
I'd love for us to have a first team squad of players who all came through our own academy, but if we had 11 first team Martians on the park, playing attractive, winning football I could live with that ?
