Well, Frankie 'where's the burds' McAvennie has spoken - he's apparently said in an online article that Mikey Johnson is talented but not good enough for Celtic.

I would have to agree with him not that my opinion matters as far as his career goes. But he has had his chances.

Frank is spot on, Johnson is turning into the new Christie.
When he runs down the left and cuts in he either runs straight into a defender or trips over the ball, If and it's a BIG IF he manages to get past a defender he just blasts the ball which goes no where near the goal.
He should be no where near the 1st team squad.

For once I agree with McAvennie because he normally talks nonsense.
Frank has a habit of getting a 50/ 50 decision wrong continuously.
For an Ex- footballer, his knowledge of the game is very poor
I’m not surprised Frank has given this sort of opinion on the Eve of a major cup final, classic McAvennie.

No one really knows how good he can be unless he gets injury free for at least a season you only have to look at Ralston to see a sustained run only helps and remember we've let players like Andy Robertson Shay given go and almost sold cal McGregor.

Agree BuzzBomb regarding Macca's timing with his 'player opinions'.

On Mikey, I fall into the camp of believing he's not good enough to cut it at Celtic.

That may be unfair as it could be argued that he needs a real run of games in order to show what he can do but it seems to me that the clock is ticking on his Celtic career with every transfer window as well as the bhoys in the B Team desperate to grab their opportunity.

I think he has talent, but it's being misused, I think he could benefit with some coaching to show him what he is doing wrong, if that doesn't work, unfortunately he will have to move on, but I'd rather we gave him more of a chance .

Pedro71 so on the eve of a massive cup final with multiple talking points u want to post snide comments about a young injury plagued Celtic player?
Jonbhoy if he’s the new Christie good. cos Ryan Christie is a great player
Patrick ?? proper Celtic supporter.

Vin1 - if you take a minute to read my first post you may notice that I'm reiterating what a former Celtic player said about Mikey Johnston ?.

19 Dec 2021 02:12:32
Christie lost his way under Lennon u only have to look at his stats the Rodgers last tear and a half and he was immense for us Johnston is capable of being a better player imo if he stays injury free and decides to release the ball and get his head up more often he has great talent look at ralstinho Ange worked wonders there he might be able to do the same with Johnston and turn him into a cracking player he’s only 22.

19 Dec 2021 11:45:29
I agree aindoh, Johnston definitely has talent and he’s meant to be brilliant in training.
If he can stay fit and with some good coaching, we might still see the best from Mikey.

19 Dec 2021 11:51:55
Under big ange rogic biton rejuvenated and playing well Tony ralston finally finding his way so let's give johnston a bit more leeway as he doesn't deserve the bile some fans spew towards him. cos aren't we the best fans in the world. faithful through and through etc etc.

19 Dec 2021 14:48:18
No doubt he has a lot of talent but he can't contact with his brain to know what to do with the ball when he gets it he can't pass it or shoots at goal when he had better options I am not sure if he can learn that at his stage of his career.
