I read the Celtic trends page for the game yesterday and Celtic had a very high 799 passes but we only managed a very poor 2 shots on target.
The average positions on the heat map shows Calmac is sitting too deep.
His average position is inbetween Bitton and Turnbull and I think Calmac should be further up the park with Livingston camped on their own 18 yard line.
I also noticed that Jota is quite central and almost playing as another striker.
I mentioned after the Hibs match that Juranovic didn't attempt to overlap and I thought it was because he was instructed to stay close to the fast Hibs winger Boyle.
I noticed it again yesterday and the only crosses he puts in are from outside the box.
I know he's playing out of position but he needs to get forward more and give his right winger an option on his outside.
The guy from the Trends page also wrote about Juranovic not overlapping in his article.

Juranovic provided almost nothing going forward. Need Johnston and whoever left back in to hit the byeline one Jota swiches to right or comes off.

I thought Scales was going to be that option.

We haven’t been hitting the by line all season or crosses come from deep and we are aiming at small strikers against big teams I don’t actually quite understand it. I really think we need to mix it up a bit especially against teams with 10 men behind the ball.

After the defeat one of the Livi players said that the plan was to let Celtic cross into the box as they thought they could deal with that and they did the same yesterday.

Where’s the byline runs and cut back to get these big lumps trying to use their feet.

We need a plan-B against non football tactics like recently displayed by St-Johnstone and Livingstone yesterday. That was criminal stats yesterday as Buzz Bomb pointed out.799 passes and only 2 poor attempts at goal. Guys i do not know the answers that's what Ange and his coaching team get paid the big bucks for.5 points conceded to this livi team could cost us the league. come on Ange get the measure of these teams and adapt if needed. Rant over guys.

Definitely agree. That won't be the last game where a team comes to frustrate for 90 minute plus.

Need width going forward to go round other teams full backs to make centre halves come of of the middle and create space.

Too predicable at times.

Jj is not a lb he was constantly stopping and cutting back which ment a diagonal and they were poor, I like a lefty at lb who can deliver on the run, it won't be list on ange.

Need to to pay juranovic is his natural position. Ralston is a back up at best. Surely scales must be good enough to start.

I know its youtube clips and at a lower level but Liam Scales looks like he has somehing about him.

Crying out yesterday for natural width on the left.

We also need to take more risks when playing teams like Livingston to get then out of their defensive shape. Too many side to side passes and no cutting edge. And virtually no shots.

Celtic have struggled to create chances before, at certain venues like Rugby Park.
We found the answer by playing a 3-5-2 formation.
Celtic need to play 2 up front against Livingston, both at home and away.
Livingston have played at Ibrox twice this season ( once in cup ) and once at Celtic Park and they’ve still to get a shot on target in four and a half hours of football.
Play the 3 at the back and 2 strikers against them.

Agree Buzz mate. shake it up and do not let these teams practise all week to play against us because they know every ball we will play. If it needs route 1 to get 3 points then so be it.799 passes do not win points, goals DO.
