Nearing the end of Sep and celtic football club have one fit striker, hard to believe, we punt griff we knew eddy was for off and the Greek boy for some reason never done a pre season, we were always one Injury away from a crisis in the striker dpt, and I posted on here if calmac gets injured the same in midfield, how did this happen,

An inept, penny pinching board, who have outstayed their welcome.

Brum we could have signed the boy Mccann for a decent fee and he would have played for us no bother, but we've got soro and Bitton ?.

The signings of McCarthy and Giakoumakis would have been fine if we still had adequate cover and could carry the delays but typically, we offload and sell before we properly assess a situation thoroughly. Eddy, Christie and Griffiths were destined to leave, but filling these gaps with match-fit replacements was common sense - especially when JF was going to be out of action.
Broony and Ntcham were away early doors, leaving Cal-Mac as the only reliable 'engine'. Then, sods law, we lose him and go with McCarthy, who - as we near October is still struggling.
The injuries to Forrest, McGregor and Kyogo were bad enough, but we were totally unprepared for any more absences; while guys like Soro, Bitton and Johnston basically offer very little of note.
The away form is becoming a real worry, but hopefully we get one or two back soon and get back to winning ways?
Two things are imperative:- we learn to win away in the SPL and don't lose any more ground in the title challenge and obviously strengthen in key areas come January - with fit match-ready guys.

Mally, signing McCann for a 'decent' fee doesn't make sense. If we were interested in McCann, from what I've read the price Celtic were quoted for him was far, far higher, than what he eventually went for.

OAB2, I understand what you're saying but there has to be a reality check here.

12 players were signed in the Summer transfer window to effectively keep us competitive and I'm sure we would have been in for many more than that.

No doubt in my mind we were always going to need a few more quality additions going forward but, as has been said, Ange has inherited a sh$t show and it will take time to turn it around - not one window.

Ange deserves a chance and if he doesn't get that chance then it's back to square one.

Ped think he went for 1 mill, say St Johnstone wanted 2 mill he would still have been a bargain, watched their game over in Turkey and he bossed it, he would have started yesterday no danger, think he's another we'll regret and he supports the club which always helps.

Mally, that's the point - I read we were being quoted funny money (£4M) for McCann.
Whether true or not we may never know but every player has their value and if we were quoted an overly inflated price as we had money to spend on the back of selling Ajer/ Eddy, it's likely we said, thank you but no thank you.

Think 2mill would have got the deal done moneys money and St Johnstone needs it.
