Is there anyway for sure to find out the sell on clause inserted into the deal when we bought eddy? Some people saying 40% of price some people saying 40% of profit and some people saying 50% of profit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly does it matter? Are we still trying to get a player out of Van Dykes sell on money. Will the board ever spend it? Does it matter it we buy 2x 4m full backs or 2 freebies? If the recruitment is right I couldn't care what we spend. We've wasted a ton of cash so far. It's about proper recruitment not about how much goes out and what comes in.

It was the Daily Record that ran with the story of 50%.
It’s been reported it’s 40% but I don’t think anyone is certain if it’s from the profit.
I was reading that Brighton could be making their move soon and there could also be a future sell on clause inserted but it would only be activated if Brighton received a future bid of £30 million or above for Edouard.

Journalist Stephen McGowan has mentioned tonight that Brighton have finally made an initial bid of £18 million for Edouard and the player is keen on the move.

I once lost a sweet trainer in a peat bog on acid. Gutted? Aye. Got past it? Totally.

Who cares if an offer of double figures comes in bite their hand off.

Southampton are now after edouard.

Depending on what teams came in for eddy, would we not be better off with swaps with players plus cash. That way it could take out the profit percentage we need to give PSG, we get at least one player and the full fee?

07 Aug 2021 06:57:45
Whatever happens I think for all concerned edouard moves on. Get whatever money we can for him and let ange continue to build his own squad, players that want to be here and work for him.

I agree with most of the comments above and it doesn't really matter what the percentage is, my own opinion is although he has done well for the club in the past I really just want him gone to the point even if we just received our initial outlay of 9m just to get him out the door I would be happy. Enough to buy say 2 more good players.

07 Aug 2021 08:17:37
Quinn do you want a job on the Celtic board😂
That would make perfect sense, take the 9m which would recoup what we paid and 1 or 2 players to the value of the rest of the transfer fee. which would mean there's no profit for psg to receive 40% of, now I know it probably wouldn't be just as simple as that but it does make sense.

I'm sure ED mentioned a while ago it is supposed to be 40% of any profit.
What ever we sell him for I hope we get a decent sell on clause inserted into the deal.

{Ed007's Note - If it is 40% - and I don't believe that it is, would Lawwell agree to that? - it will be 40% of our profit, anything over the £9 million we paid.}

I'm of the same opinion as you ed007 I really can't have seen PL agreeing to such a high percentage and if he did it must have been in doing so was the only way we were going to get him, if so then fair enough.
